i bought some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290816941544?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

and i have to say it is the best £1.99 i have spent, it totally transformed the look of the rear at night, no before pictures but im sure you know what dull yellowy light normally shines from the rear lol, these are just bright white light which makes it look a whole load more modern.

these bulbs have nothing to do with me btw incase people think im plugging them lol, if you search there are loads of different ones about, these were just the cheapest 8 led ones i could see on a quick look.

i need new screws! they are very rusty i had to use a pair of longnose molegrips to remove and re-install! havent looked but maybe eurospares will do the little holders/screws cheap.....

oh and remember if your car tells you that you have a bulb out, remember you need canbus bulbs, iv no idea if any maserati's have them, but mine doesnt

Ahh, I possibly should have checked for the canbus thing before buying, but at that price, I think I can stomach the loss if they don't work.

I expect the screws are standard. The only issue will be (for me) getting them out. I feel I may have to dremel them.

Be careful if you drill them out , as I'm sure someone has done that with mine in the past, and that is what rattles inside the bootlid when I open it!

CANBUS??? wtf is that? or have I missed something?
I currently have a bulb out light on dash - sidelight I think not checked yet (job number 34456 on list for the 3 days off over Christmas, which includes finish bathroom at number 1 - currently status of bathroom is 'not completely stripped out')

Incidentally I like the LED look, very smart

CANBUS, it's just so the car "sees" it as a normal bulb, ie a load, and doesn't report it as a faulty bulb.

Lets all the little bits (like bulb warnings) to talk to each other. If the resistance of the bulb is wrong (which it would be for an LED vs an incandescent bulb) then the system generally thinks it's blown and throws the warning. Back in the old days, we used to put resistors in parallel to fool them. No idea what they do now ;)
