The best advice drive them and then choose which you prefer, personally my heart was set on a 3200 but my head kept telling me the 4200 was likely to be the more sensible choice, I was in two minds for ages and bought neither, eventually I forced the decision by deciding I wanted a convertible so out went the 3200. I loved the CC box despite the fact that I had to replace most of the gear selection stuff and I would have another tomorrow if the right car came up.

To my mind whether you decide on a 4200 or a 3200 neither choice could be described as rational outside the walls of this forum. My 3200 GT has tested my blind love to the limit by requiring an engine rebuild (so easy to say, so difficult to achieve) due to the dreaded end float affliction at 36,000 miles. However I am still besotted and would not sell even if someone offered me all the money back that I have paid out over the years of ownership. Lozzer's picture on the first page of this thread goes some way to explaining why. Is that rational? Can I really explain why? Nope.
