Fuel pressure should be strong, a lazy spurt does not sound right. I tried to start my 3200 with a loose fuel hose and it went everywhere, very quickly, so I am thinking the correct fuel pressure should be pretty high. There is a test port on the fuel rails. i am wondering if one or both of your fuel pumps has failed or just seized up. Did you leave it 3 years with very little fuel in it? The pumps rely on being submerged in fuel and if they are left above the fuel level for long periods I suspect they would not like this.

Ok so she doesn’t like running on Water very much....fussy old motor..... Water in the fuel, just wondering how it got there. Probably more than condensation... I wondered .....Can the fuel filler flap area fill with water and then run in past the filer cap o-ring something? Anyone have any experience on this one? Thanks everyone for your help so far....

unsure how to drain the fuel. Maybe find the entry point before draining the contaminated fluid. Fuel filler cap should be secure but might also contain a vent. There is a drain hole in the recess under fuel flap. If blocked this would allow water to pool above the lip of fuel filler

Might be a method to use the built-in fuel pump to push it out. Did this when scrapping my 166 which had full tank of super unleaded ready for annual holiday.

There is also a carbon filter contraption in the wheel arch, not sure if water can find its way back from there though.

Condensation over 5 years?

Fuel could have had water in it before it went into the car.

Can’t see how the fuel filler recess could fill with water high enough to get into the tank. It’ll just run out over the wing.

Yeh I’ve seen it before on cars stored outside, the drain in the tank cap recess blocks then rain water can flow down into the tank.

What I do is disconnect the fuel pipe on the filter and extend it to a drum of some kind. Use the in tank pumps to drain it by running 12v to them with the cars battery disconnected.
Be careful with fuel and sparks.

It looks like it’s time to pull the pumps out and see what’s going on in there.

If there is water in the tank, no amount of battery resets will fix it lol

just checked my car and the recess for fuel filler is deep enough to overflow into the tank, assuming the cap can leak.
Bottom pic with cap removed shows the actual level. The drain is easy to block.

New flock effect paint :)
Not quite flocked :( Right after this car was driven out of the barn for a wash. The paint is in decent shape but roof is stained from bird droppings and leaves.
My 3200 has been SORN since 2015. The immediate action needed is brake lines. No car lift yet as we will move house soon.
Appreciate any tips.

Hello all....ok thanks for all your help i can confirm that my hole was blocked for draining the fuel flap recess area.... and do you know what, thinking back i think i noticed water gathering there once which I had not seen before. “Ill keep an eye on that i thought” Anyway I bit the bullet tank out ....swishy swashy good tank washy. blew the lines through and she lives once again. Nothing sounds as good as one of these .... i forgot the appreciation people have for the car noise as it goes burbling passed.... It awakens something in mankind...like fire or a well kept woman in a summer dress. Anyway were all good now... thanks guys I will need some bits soon.. Must get some new tyres. As a temporary measure I put some Accellera tyres on her between powder coating wheels (I think i still have a spare set) They actually cope quite well and as an added bonus the just start to squeal on boost in 2nd.....will i never grow up?? I hope not!
