Hi, any ideas, I'm on my second fuse box, same fuse melting number 6, there must be a solution to stop fuse melting? Anyone know of any? Surely and auto electrician can put something inline.....
Cheers

i know its generally regarded as a bodge but try a higher rated fuse. its clearly drawing a lot of current and close to the fuse rating or it would not get so hot. if you put a higher rated fuse it will still blow if there's a catastrophic failure but wont melt with normal current. i should also in fairness state that it is likely that some thing on that fuse line is drawing more current than it should and that really whats causing the issue and you should fix whatever is causing the higher current. if its the AC it could be the fan failing or one of the actuators

… or put a current meter in place of the fuse and measure the draw - compare with similar should indicate if there is a faulty draw.

Thank guys for the advice, I'll try a higher amp fuse maybe a bosch one see what happens. The fan and aircon seems to be working as it should I think? Are they the mini fuse or standard?

Hi,
Well another fuses Burnt out :(
I think it may well be the actuator as I have a droning noise too.
Looking for some help, how do i know which ones causing the problem? By the looks of the diagram on eurospares theres 3 heater actuators?
Also are they easy to get too and change? , or is it a garage joby? I have basic electric knowledge.
And help apreciated.....

Common problem. Fuse get hot doesn't blow melts holder. Replaced mine with Alfa166 fuse box as the same. 35 amp fuse doesn't get hot now.
Hi mate, did the new alpha box solve the problem, how's it been?
Bit scared to put the new alpha box in as this will be the second one! :/ both previous melted out at air con fuse......
When it's running seems fine although when I run the self teaching air reset it flashes intermittently suggest a problem within the system. Maybe to much draw?
Cheers kev

Hi not really able to comment as not been using car. Its up for sale. I think common solution is to upgrade fuse. But if it keeps blowing it would appear something is faulty.
