Evening all,

After i laid her up for the winter it seems as a new rad is needed, i did remember seeing compatible rads from Autodoc in a thread somewhere. Does any one know of a good source for a 3200GT radiator?

The AUTODOC rad was for a 4200.

The 3200 rad is an old fashion type that can be re cored. It’s not leaking from the main pipe flanges, down the side of the rad?

The flanges crack and can be resolded.

Thanks. There's small puffs steam emanating from the corner side when warm, but its really difficult to tell where exactly, its pretty tight around there. Next step is to investigate flanges !

^exactly. About 500-1000 miles after a cambelt change is where issues start. The dealership procedure is to unbolt the rad, leave the coolant pipes in place and manhandle the unit to one side, which cracks the flanges. Seen it so many times as Dem found out.

The leak on flanged pipes is one area to check before removing rad. In my case it was the 3 rubber pipes that link the larger to smaller cores. I replaced these with silicon pipes as I think most people have when they have had to separate the two cores. The smaller front core was starting to show signs of age so I had that replaced at the same time by radiator specialist I used in Bristol.

Or speak to these people, it is in fact a 3200 radiator, which I pointed out to them when I bought one after my ally one sprang a leak.
Thanks for that Lozzer - just had a quote this morning for £400 + VAT to re-core mine locally :(

Just be aware anyone going down this route will probably need to swap the bottom brackets and a square nut for the power steering cooler from their old rad onto the new one, these were missing on the rad I received, hence they were missing on the one I exchanged. No big deal really, the one advertised is most likely my old one.

I've managed to negotiate a better price locally - still more than the eBay one, but it's 12 miles away if I have issues, rather than the other end of the country.

@SteveM can you give me the diameter and length of the 3 short hoses that connect the two halves as I would like to replace those with Silicone as you did?

Hi - you will need 3No 28mm Internal Diameter silicon hoses each 45mm long. 28mm is quite tight so needs lubricating on but 32mm too loose. I got single length of 28mm ID from Roose and cut to suit

There was a thread where described well "Radiator - are you aware" started by Deano - sorry not sure how to add link

By way of update, since the cambelt was due shipped to Mike for belt and rad. In fairness the rad wasn't much more than ebay and fitted too.
