As promised, I have had the wheels powder coated back to OEM finish and I have to say I am very pleased and prefer to the Momo Black the Challenge wheels were supplied in. I guess it is always personal taste in such matters but this is how I think it will stay;87757877588775987760

Stunning car, wow. Always liked the Scag, kicking myself for not picking one up a few years ago when they could be had for 50K. I settled for the GT-S instead in the end.

Oooh that is lovely. Though if ever i was lucky enough, id probably change the wheels.
Yes, the early ones do look under-wheeled. Probably better for ride comfort but it does look as if it's on spacesavers

Superb example @Guy - easy to see the breadcrumb trail from GranTurismo.
In objective terms as someone without 90k to make that leap, not sure it is any more handsome than GranTurismo. For certain a Stradale is the best sounding road car I have yet heard (F50 aside) and by all accounts a brilliant steer too.
Very interested to hear your continued adventures as that V12 itch will never leave. I have a learned friend whose voice stuck in my head "V12 is all refinement, not excitement".
BTW - plenty cope to pick up QP V as a daily sh!tter. Mine is still a special place to be, but no stranger to Asda / local tip / cycle carrying / Farmers supply. Also given a run out up Windermere and over the pass around Ullswater ( 400 meters of electric horse fencing in the boot). What car can do this better ?

Thanks, I am delighted with it and have racked up 4000 miles in its first year (none between Nov and April!). I still agree that the GranTurismo is probably the most handsome coupe of recent years but the looks of the 612 (needs the 20" Challenge wheels as is mentioned often) have improved with age. I also think it is colour dependent. The Strad is certainly a Maserati high point, the various improvements (especially suspension, brakes and MC Shift) make it a worthwhile upgrade. I enjoyed mine immensely and would have another. The 612 feels more mature and it is not as exciting on first acquaintance. It is more subtle and the V12 with sports exhaust still feels and sounds very special (more outside than in) and is deceptively powerful, pulling hard from much lower revs than the 4.7 V8. The interior is a significant step up and they are quite a rare sight on our roads. It also ticks the V12 box! In terms of sound, I would agree (I have the fabulous QPV GTS 4.7 to remind me how good they are) but then there is the option to trump even the Strad with these; https://www.fiammenghiitalia.com/en/ (turn the sound up and listen to the V12 here for evidence). Living with 15mpg at £1.80 is a concern but much less of an uplift than flying 1st Class! Here it is a couple of weeks ago getting ready for its first weekend outing across Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset;

Both the 456 and 360 that I had the interiors were exceptional certainly a class above many others.
The only car close since then is my Porsche Boxster 987 with full leather.
