Senility I'm afraid Matt. The Merc was fabulous and I don't like Mercs. It went like a stabbed rat and sounded very nearly as good as mine! Great car.

To be honest, i am not drawn to that Merc at all, far too ugly, would rather the CLK Black Series.

Conaero, it's senility ...it must be.
I am going to stick my neck out here; but I don't care how ruddy fast it is, I care about what it looks like too. If my car costs me £100K but looks like a Vauxhall, then perhaps I would be senile.
Speed is one part of the whole but I care equally about how the car looks.
Hence my reason for saying that the Maserati 4200/3200 (like them equally) is one of the best-looking cars of all time - it has a timeless elegance and understatement that the Germans can only dream about.
The word 'classic' applies to this car for reasons other than future values - in 50 years time it will be seen as still being beautiful.
I'll be 110 years old so perhaps won't be able to hear it, but you young whippersnappers mark my words!
