These are both due to be replaced at four years old but how far can you push it? Most manufacturers' have much longer service life on these items.

£1500 is about the price for a major service including those 2 items

no this quote was for just the 2 parts, I think / hope this includes fitting - forgot to ask

agree that other makes for these parts, the service is a lot longer, I only found out that these should have been replaced back in 2011..oops.... was going to ask how long these could be pushed but I've just gone over the 50k miles so maybe need doing but at £1,500 wanted to check if this was right ?

Parisien - so this is just parts, going on your figures ? how many hours labour ?

I've just had some very recent experience on this. Emblem just completed an 81k service on mine. With both these items the quote was in the region of £1500

Hi EnzoMC

It is a while ago now (December 2010) since I had the Lambda sensors and carbon cannister changed on my 2006 QP. The prices then for original Maserati parts were:- Two Front Lambda sensors (£104.50 each) = £209 plus VAT Two rear Lambda sensors (£52.40 each) = £104.80 plus VAT. Carbon cannister £154.50 plus VAT. Total cost of parts including VAT @ 17.5% (as it was then) = £550.25. I took advice and delayed changing the Lambda sensors until reaching the requisite mileage rather than relying upon the time factor alone. This maintenance was carried out as part of a 43,500 mile service so I cannot give an accurate estimate of the labour charges for the work described in isolation. However, you can be certain that it shouldn't cost anything like the £1500 you have been quoted.

Regards,

Paul

thanks - I was concerned that the £1500 was just parts, I'm going to get a few quotes and see what figures I get
