I am up for a meet - maybe Oct 3rd? That would give people enough time to get a pass ;)

let’s see how many of us are keen...

End if date = 10

I don't miss my coding days in college. I hate Visual Basic.

That was meant to be SQL!

I recall telling my previous but one employer that they should be very scared. Having presented them with a large number of reports from our MySQL DB, and them being more than happy, I had to explain that I was the best SQL coder they had, and this was very very wrong......

Personally I couldn't tell the difference if you served me up a line of script from Visual Basic versus SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL or whatever.

Who cares if the queries are written badly... just throw more RAM, storage and spindles at it... problem solved!

Unless the spindles on your staging DB are shared with your production DB, and then your staging DB decides to back up.

Really don't ask me how I know, but I still call 1601 **** o'clock

Sounds like there’s lots of dodgy goings-on around the Common. WTF was all that about?

I am in for Oct 10th as well... is this unconditional or would depend on weather?
Given the random Rule of Six - this is just a local meet for those living close by I guess.
Should we start a list ?

I'm all in unless it's properly cats and dogs out there... I'll be guided by yourselves in terms of where we're meeting/the route/what time etc. Wimbledon is fairly close by for me (12 miles) but wouldn't confess to knowing it well at all, apart from when I bought my GT S in the area and drove her back!

Well, I can't say I know Wimbledon well, my son goes to school there and that is about it.
I will be relying on Wheelybin (who initiated this thread) for suggestion, given that he is local and probably know where is a good place to meet.

I used to live just off Wimbledon Common - Savona Close. A meet-up there would have got the neighbours curtains' twitching!

Good point, and hence we (ok, jus makeshift UK and I at the moment) have decided to meet at the Cobham service station on M25 (J9/10) at 9:00am on Saturday Oct 7th.

makeshift has volunteered to find us some nice roads to drive on after breakfast.

Well, given the government's rule of six (interesting how Boris came up with this random number, why not 5 or 8), I think we can only have up to 6 cars I guess.

Can we please rename this to the blind leading the blind? :D

(Going for the sales pitch here) You'll be spoilt for choice on breakfast... Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC, Greggs... 3 hours free parking, and a brisk south-easterly wind will be skimming it's way across Cobham services car park as a function of the prevailing clockwise traffic - to ensure airborne virus and bacterium are, instead, blown away and replaced with carbon dioxide and the general roar of the unevenly paved section of the M25 between Junctions 9 and 10.

Oh and there will be Maseratis, don't forget that bit :) What's not to love?

Sorry I meant to say Saturday Oct 10th... makeshift is in, but weather dependent, no fun checking out people’s pride and joy in the rain, and definitely not fun and risky driving ******* B roadS.

Morning all,

Weather is looking fairly good for today and tomorrow - I'm going to pass on the Brands Hatch weekend, but still keen to shlep up to Cobham Services tomorrow (Sat 10th) for 09:00 - 09:30, grab a coffee and perhaps go for a mini-blat with any others if they fancy it?

If it's at least me and one other I'll commit to going (oh dear, this really is starting to sound like a lonely hearts column!).
