My car is going up for sale as you know. Do I put it on pistonheads, ebay, or autotrader?
Ebay will get to more people as will Autotrader.
Pistonheads is clearly for those looking specifically but not sure if it is right for a QP.

Autotrader or SOR with a specialist.

eBay is too much hassle and I’ve had no luck with Pistinheads for about 7 years.

It's free to put on classiccarsforsale.co.uk which means it might get picked up by Classic Cars magazine in their print classifieds.

You could try one of those auction websites, collecting cars, trade classics etc. Some cars have made decent money if you get a couple of keen bidders trying to beat each other!

Be prepared that it will be on sale for a while. Autotrader do a deal where they'll advertise it till it's sold. Classic car is a good shout as it's free, so is Gumtree and Facebook market place. But you'll probably get dreamers with the last two.

You could try Dickie Grace if yours is a top quality example. He bought my GC before I had a chance to correct a spelling mistake I spotted in the ad i put on here.

That was back in Feb and it then got passed on to at least 3 other dealers before it just got sold this weekend by Performace Paddock in Kent. Advertised at an unrealistic £9k more than I accepted for it, so I think that’s why it took 4 months before some mug paid OTT for it.....hopefully not someone on here as that was more than I paid for it 2.5 years and 5000 miles ago!

Just started to write the autotrader add but it won't let you add pics from an android device. Wtf! Have to do it on the PC or phone later.

Perhaps, if there is someone lurking who wants a QP, they should try and do a deal with you before you advertise it.

What are you getting instead?

Alpina, Aston, Bentley, Ferrari... Lambo?

Or have you already replaced it with another Maser and I missed the thread!

Autotrader seems to be the one that all look at. I have sold cars through Pistonheads and never had an issue but Autotrader will reach more people. eBay I wouldn’t give it the time of day as most are just looking for a bargain.

Replaced with Maser. Not telling until it is on the drive.

I went for all three.

Autotrader has the largest market - but the advertisement space does not allow for much.

Pistonheads - well it attracts pistonheads, rather than someone looking for a new Fiesta.

eBay - I think people looking on either of the above also look at eBay. Advert length can be much longer, allowing for a lot more detail and hopefully scaring off any tyre-kickers.

When you purchased your last car - which of the above did you use?

Good point made. Autotrader but then I check all of them plus classics and SM obviously. I guess most who are thinking Mas or performance car check the mainstream then manufacturer derived forums.
