Bought a 9-3 aero convertible new and had it over 10 years.
Brilliant car. Sold it to my employee who sold it 2 years later to a client who is a pilot with Lufthansa.
Still going strong.
Make sure oil strainer in sump is cleaned at 75k approx or else head gasket will weep and turbo will let go big time soon after.
Other than that car was faultless.

I was looking at these before I bought my Alfa GT. Went with the GT as it was a diesel and got more MPG.

Still have to scratch the Saab itch at some point.

Talk of Saabs takes me back. Back in the mid 90s had a 99 and then a 900. I used to navigate on rallies for a guy whose family owned the Saab dealers in Peterborough, and got both of them through him. My wife used to love them as she felt very safe in them. in the 99 she was hit by a Transit at the back end. Had to tow the Transit away with stoved in grill and radiator, the Saab suffered the boot opening button being jammed in and that was it. Fewyears later she was T-boned by a 2CV failing to stop at a T jct. The 2CV fell apart like something in a cartoon where all the panels fell off, Saab simply had the door panel pushed in.

We use to run a 95 Aero Estate, what an awesome bit of kit- fast, handled OK and could carry anything. Might go and look for another

I run a Saab 9-5 aero estate as a daily driver. 260hp out of the box and buckets of torque. It has surprised many an 'ultimate driving machine'. It also has the ability to carry more than a small van.
I also have a Saab 9000 aero with a wee remap which was dynoed at 300hp and 410 nm torque. With not a lot of weight, it is lively, to say the least. Some owners are running 450 - 500 hp on stock internals - not bad for a 2.3 ltr single turbo, four pot.
There is so much expertise on the forums to have the ecu mapped for the price of a pint. Always wondered why nobody on the Maserati forum has he ability to de-code and remap the ecu.
Most replacement mechanical parts are easily and cheaply sourced from a breakers. Saab and Maserati are my two automotive loves.

Also once had a Saab 9-5 Aero - absolute cracking car. Replaced it with a Volvo S60 T5 which was not bad either.
