Aluminium dead pedal - swapping out a rubber one

Has anyone changed their rubber dead pedal for the oem aluminium? I’ve managed to find an aluminium one today that’s arriving tomorrow, but can’t find any instructions or comments when I’ve trawled the internet. All the threads seem to be around Ultimate pedals etc and fixing with double sided tape. I’d rather fix as it left the factory, I’m assuming though that if I had the rubber one originally then the aluminium replacement will require holes drilling?

It was Eurospares from a breaker. They’ve still got the MC brake pedal, but not the dead pedal.. I’ve been looking for ages.

So the screws are just for show? Or do they just go through carpet a bit?

They just screw through the carpet as a self-tapper. I swapped my two piece aluminum set for the three piece MC set and to be sure, I used some 3M double sided tape too and it hasn't moved for over 2 years
