Crikey you've taken a **** of a roasting haven't you. If somebody wants to buy your plate then fair play to them. The onlt risk is if Mr Plod is bored one day they will run the risk of BennyD style Tutting, but it's not the most heinous crime out there. I hope you find a good home for the plate and maybe get a good price for it. I also hope you don't get put off the forum which is usually a much friendlier place.
Yeah we're sarky bunch of coonts, but we're friendly, but like anyone else, we love a pile on. I got piled on once over a speeding fine I had, not here but it reet peed me off at the time!

I'm sure he's a big boy now and will take it in good spirit, just an admission that it was "illegal" would have been good though instead of insisting it was legally displayed, some folk don't actually know the full rules on plates and may have assumed it was legal to display in that way

I doubt the plate is what’s ruffled feathers; it’s the £5k instead of £250 that’s irked folk. It’s worth £250 and that’s all.
That's only what was paid for it - not what the asking price is. As always it could be worth a lot more or a lot less depending on what someone pays.

I think everyone else is a lot more bothered then I am, probably from the looks of it maybe quite a bit older too, seems to be a generational gap regards the whole risk attitude lmao and also around pricing, £250???

AB11 DHB sold for close to £400k
And guess what it needed tinkering to make it read ABU.

Similarly for a plate named after a car, F1 CAL sold for £5m chris Evans bought it so it could go on a ferrrari callifornia. It probably was only worth £250 for the likes of us but to someone with a Ferrari california it’s worth the big bucks.

Therefore the fact that people are irked at £5k and think it should be £250 I say... your generation had it so easy (government reports around prosperity, home ownership and individual wealth, say the same so do your research before u shoot me down lol) I wish we could have all lived in that time.

P.s don’t take it too serious. I was just participating for the bants...

Great looking car in a lovely setting. What is going to replace her?

I’m open to suggestions... someone has offered me a minor front end damaged cat d Ghibli for a very reasonable price or a levante... so I’m going to sell the current one and make a decision. Although I have tonnes of experience with the Ghibli it may be nice to get my hands dirty with the Levante. Time will tell.

If I go for the Ghibli il keep the plate lol

From where the message was posted. Love horse meat! Anyone know what a "Burger du Cheval" is? Apologies to the OP for the thread drift - after the flak you've copped though I don't suppose you give a horse's **** :)

Is the damaged Ghibli a diesel. Nothing against diesel Ghibli or Levantes, but the petrol cars are a pretty different drive and make a very decent noise.

If 4 doors aren’t essential, what about a Granturismo?

Lol -not sure what the value of your plate is.... but do know that if PC plod decide the spacing or letters do not conform, they will theaten that DVLA will confiscate the plate and you are back to Govind zero.

I have run an altered plate on my Jag for years - no problem - I ran D13 TVV to read a little more like DB7 VV (vantage vollente ) and was threatened with confisacation - had to revert to a less altered plate and I only had £400 at risk.

Lol... love that’s it has piqued some interest even if not the buying kind.

Regards the points raised.. it’s not a show plate, genuine plate from ‘plate factory’, and secondly it is not a lower case b, it is a 6 the only thing is that the curve of the 6 was cut off, the plate is not printed it is made from carbon gel lettering and therefore the 6 was put into position and the slight curve at the top was cut of with a Stanley knife. Still a 6.

Plate has been on the car for over a year, car is in daily use not just a weekend car and have never been pulled once for the plate.

Why are you selling your Maser, is it the Fiat diesel engined version that nobody wants?

Why so rude to this poor bloke? This is a Maserati forum isn’t it? And he owns a Maserati doesn’t he? You couldn’t have made him feel much less welcome if you’d tried.....

Was always my favourite. Back on message I agree that some of the comments were harsh but I think the OP did not help himself with his style of communication either.

Yeah, agreed. Took me about two weeks to stop laughing. And even now I still find myself chortling away. (At the Larson cartoon, by the way, not the Gh16blii numberplate.)
