Another Scammer?

Never spoken to him, only ever had emails.
I personally am pretty sure it is a scam although he does seem to know Maserati's.
I am looking for someone to help me word an email that keeps him hanging on the hook. Just for a bit of fun. Any thoughts? The more time he wastes on trying to scam me, the less time he has scamming someone else?

You won’t cost him any time at all, he probably has 10 people like you hanging on the hook. Ask him for more details like the stuff I mentioned and see if it unravels.

But beware, if it is a scam, the more you engage the more you will put yourself on the list of marks for future efforts.

I had a French guy wanting my 4200 , spoke on the phone a few times, email etc only he wanted me to drive it to Dover, no thanks

It went on for weeks , him trying to convince me he was genuine, didn't want to leave a deposit , eventually I asked for proof of ID , passport or driving licence or that was it

Next day I got a link to a YouTube video

WTF is this

FF to 3 minutes this is me in the video

Oh **** off

Sold it a couple of weeks later, he wasn't happy but to this day I don't know if it was a scam or not

For the same reason as my original post I am removing my original post here as I do not have any proof that this person tried to scam me. Another person on here has vouched for him so I am prepared to give the person the benefit of the doubt. After reading his emails some forum members thought it was a scam the same as I did. His emails were unusual to say the least.

I have already said that first to see will buy. It is a really great car. Such a pity you are in quarantine.
Maybe when your quarantine is done you can fly over, happy to pick you up from airport.
Minimum price is £10 thousand and I won't sell for less. If you want a cheap Maserati that has faults then this car is not for you. This is a well maintained car.
Regards
Phil

Be careful .... although cleared funds cannot normally be reversed, they can be in the event of error or fraud (for example account take over or deposits down the chain being reversed).

Speak to you bank and ask them for guidance before releasing your details ;)

Releasing your bank details causes absolutely no-issues. If you’re worried your bank will confirm this.
It’s no error in this case, he’s said he’ll buy for 10k-you’re not fraudulently selling it.

Sorry I wasn't being clear ... you are 100% correct that there is no issue with releasing your details. The point I was making is that funds CAN be reversed in certain circumstances and you should be aware of that.

If it was me in your position Phil, I'd set up a new separate bank account just to accomodate this transaction. If money comes in and is still good after a period specified by the bank, then I'd let the car go. Good luck.
