As above, I've not sat or been in one since I was a boy and my Late Dads 67 model. Would love a ride in one !

Mine too. Nearly finished all the paint prep and due home shortly in its original colour. It had been painted Blue Sera in the 1980s as per the attached pic, but it was a more vibrant mid blue originally.

Where are you based? I expect I won’t be using it until next Spring though.

On the topic of repaints, and as another classic example of thread drift, I've just collected my 400i from the body shop. Like the above Ghibli, it had been repainted Blu Sera in the 1980's, but it's not that colour anymore.

When stripped:

Then prepped for painting:

Hi Ewan,
You have excellent taste in cars. That is gorgeous.
How is it that these were unpopular for a period??

That’s just lovely - exquisite colour scheme inside and out. Always liked the black rear panel on the early ones.

Why alarm bells? The alarm bells should ring if you manage to find one of the other 7 RHD SS Ghiblis and discover they’ve not been restored! You’ll not get much change from £200k if you take one to a specialist like McGrath and request a full restoration.

For anyone serious about buying a series one RHD Ghibli, Andy at McGraths is the man to chat to. He is a font of knowledge.

Had mine 20 years now and bought it from the first owner. 1971 - UK market RHD SS with l.s.d. and power steering options. #2100.

As Ewan says, Andy Heywood is the man to talk to and Jim Henshaw in Bodenham has done a lot of their bodywork for them. Both nice fellas.
