Astonishing, and it's still advertised... he can't want to sell it... is he part time? maybe it's not his day job and he's busy?

I believe he is very busy but TBH arnt we all, I go away tomorrow so forgetting about it.
I do appreciate we all have “those days”
Sod’s law the contact and requested info came in at 12:40 but I’m a stubborn young fool so hey ho. ( I dare say I can see said name lurking here lol) :D

Maybe the owner is messing the dealer about. Whatever, that's no excuse for not communicating and it appears that previous high praise and recommendations are not necessarily a measure of current state.

I won’t jump the gun or point fingers, it is what it is and I’m out. Sometimes just gotta go with that gut feeling.

On the other hand...
Standing on principle whilst a potentially auspicious purchase drifts by...you'd have to be both young and foolish....! o_O

I wouldn't throw away the chance of a good car at a seemingly bargain price out of stubbornness if it ticks all the boxes.
There a few for sale but getting the spec you like is quite hard. And if you go/work away often this is made all too difficult due timing etc.. I missed a couple that way and ended up putting a deposit on a car unseen after getting frustrated with the whole searching/buying process, missing some belters, viewing some that were in poor condition etc...
But your right, part of the reason I didn't end up with the one your looking at was slow communication, which meant another one came up in the time I was waiting for a reply.
And you have to consider if you did purchase it, if he is this slow in replying when trying to sell a car, what would it be like if you had a problem with it after purchase?
I must say though, he does seem a decent, genuine guy when he has time to communicate, and did answer all my questions in detail. On the whole he gave me confidence to be happy enough to buy from him, although I never actually got to meet him.

Anyway, if it helps, I do have pictures of the underneath of the car if your still waiting for them. PM me your email address and I'll forward them on.

I am both :D. But still I wouldn't go as far to say it was auspicious (yes I looked up the meaning lol) the car was ok don't get me wrong but not the kind of jump through hoops one for me.

Seemingly .. id say it was potentially fairly priced following no major issues with an inspection. The goal post shifted with that its not allowed to go to AV "by the owner" Main dealer only so it rules it out entirely for me. I did state that it would need to go there before I considered it, we also ended the meeting with get the car over there and take all the docs keys etc as if the inspection was all ok ill transfer the balance and collect the car from there to save him messing about collecting it again etc. I didn't quibble the cost at all as if it was ok then its a fair price.
Thank you for the offer of the pictures, I did receive them at 12:40 .
He did seam a nice guy but in my line of work if a customer askes you for something one day , then messages you again the next day as a polite reminder then it takes nothing to just say, really sorry im out of the office until so and so and ill send it straight to you as soon as im in bla bla

Reading between the lines it’s on sale or return and the owner is a bit of a pain in the a. The dealer has two customers he has to keep happy and he’s just out of luck. Move on to the next one.

Yeah perhaps it was just a bit of constructive stalling. hey ho , TBH I ideally want one laced in Carbon to tender to my fetish needs lol.

On a positive note its the first pre facelift model ive looked at in detail and yes it still does it for me. o_O

Had a similar experience unfortunately but would concur with above that its probably the owner. Nareman tried to get something organised but as the days and weeks dragged on I traced the owner and got in touch directly. Well, sort of, I never got a reply! Not a "thank you for your interest" or a "we are having second thoughts". Nothing. Yet the car remained up for sale for months afterwards.

For me it would have been understandable if he'd just answered his phone and said 'sorry I can't get the car' but to just ignore me when I'd travelled 200 miles and booked a hotel really wound me up!

I totally agree , a call either way saves someone hanging around and even in the latter it’s a dream purchase shot down.
On a plus note Emirates called me at 10 this morning to treble check my pick up and to wish me a lovely holiday (here is our number if you have any issues) just a call here and there makes the world of difference and it costs 20p if that and 2mins time.

It wasn't all bad - Nareman did try and did sound a little embarrassed. Having decided though not to waste any more time, the very next morning in fact, RG came up with a beauty - perfect for what I'd been looking for. 10 minutes later a deposit was paid and the overall "purchase experience" couldn't have been better. Perhaps such things happen for a reason...

Anyway, have a great holiday. Somewhere hot hopefully.

Hi all, I've just put a refundable deposit on this car, i haven't had a chance to inspect it yet, I actually thought this maybe a scam as the price seemed good compared to other cars on his website, I am aware that he is selling on behalf of a customer so it is a private sale but price still seemed good, I'm pretty happy with the history and the described condition and have negotiated a price that i'm happy with knowing its going to need a clutch in a years time, (planning a European road trip so will be higher than normal mileage for me next year). Has anyone viewed this car give me any more information? I am a Industrial instrumentation Technician so know the obvious things to look out for but any more help would be appreciated Thanks in advance.

Is a motor trader allowed to sell 'on behalf of a customer'? Sounds awfully like SOR which should really have a warranty.

I don't really know, iv paid my deposit to Nuvola which i thought was weird as he said i was buying off the customer and not Nuvola so i guess if i ended up taking him to court i probably would be covered under the consumer rights act?
