Hey guys, long time lurker, finally taking the plunge.
Looking for a 4.2 GranTurismo ideally. Not really fussed on colour, but condition and history is important.
Located in VIC but will travel/ship interstate for the right car.
I’m across most currently advertised on the usual sites, but if you’re considering selling or spot something I might find interesting, please message me.
Thanks all and HNY.

There’s an Anniversary Spyder for £120000 on Pistonheads if you’d like to buy the world’s most overpriced car??

Sadly not Dave, although wait a few weeks and it’ll be cheaper. He’s dropped it £10,000 after 3 days of being advertised, now £110k, and the blurb says GBP, so it’s not Aus $. D7F119CE-4842-4F69-857F-4BAA7B061329.jpeg

If you want to come to me, you can have a Gransport, a Gransport Spyder and a Gransport MC Victory for £120k.

Aussie cars are expensive though. I was looking at Holdens and Ford Falcons a couple of years ago but £40k for a V8 Granada was OTT

I'd have to say the GS Spyder (now Stevie's) that you sold me is still my favourite Maser ever. Followed by the numerous GSs that followed!

We have horrific car import taxes, all up close to 50% of any top end exotic. 33% luxury car tax was to protect our car manufacturing, now we don’t produce any cars the government said f%7k it we like the tax we’ll keep charging it.

We get a few shonks down here. That car was a grey import...not aus delivered....my guess one of the HK or singaporean imports that are renowned for corrosion, electrical problems and moulded out interiors due to humidity. Imported in 2012, deregistered in 2019. Presumably the same one as advertised on carsales for 110k. Seller is using various photos of other anniversary cars which I reckon is a bit misleading.

On a different note....dicky....you clearly have yet another MCV in stock, and I think I see a gs....but didn't you sell that red gs spyder..or do you have another one? If so, then between you and McGrath's, you must have turned over the entire UK stock of gs spyders in the past 3 to 4 years!

Out of curiosity why the 4.2, simply price? If you can stretch to the 4.7 I would.
My guess is that would have to be the prime, if not only motive. In saying that, the recent price appreciation in everything from cars to used dog bowls suggests the 4.2 is not really that much of a bargain. Only 3 on carsales. The only decent one clocking in around 82k... seems a bit steep

That would be a very rare beast in that colour. I started compiling a register of the 44 RHD g's spyders and of the 30 or so I'd got some detail on, only one Grigio Alfieri on that list (1 of the 6 Aus deliveries....has Nero interior and sold last year circa 80k aud). That'll be a lovely looking car.

Yes it’s Alfieri/Nero and a really clean car. Sold by us at 7k miles and now done 15k.

Thanks all, looks like this went a bit OT :)

To answer some of the questions, yes, 4.2 is already a stretch. I would rather a sorted 4.2 than a ropey 4.7. Extra insurance, clutch etc, and there is a mental barrier of duty I'm prepared to pay :)

Not really fussed about the extra power - you go to prison for a thousand years for speeding in Oz anyway.

Anyway, I picked up a nice 4.2 this weekend. There's not much available and prices are steep, so when it popped up, I jumped on it.

Suggest you think about an x pipe, the sound you get even when under 60km/hr is epic. Highway patrol can never understand how I wasn’t travelling above the speed limit…..
