This was the rust bucket I bought this time last year to roll around in whilst I saved my pennies for a GT 80839
It’s a lot rougher than in looks. The list of jobs to do when I bought it included:
Tail light gaskets to be changed as the current ones are perished and water leaks into the boot
Bonnet catch doesn’t return to it’s starting position when you open the bonnet
Ignition switch is temperamental and needs changing
Wheels need refurbing
Over the past 12 months and 3 lockdowns I have done precisely none of those jobs. But it’s had a service and passed it’s MOT without any advisories, the 4 wheel steering still works and despite having a reputation for being dodgy the triptronic box is also working ok. I do still hold out hope that I can get the niggles sorted and keep it as a run around but my wife won’t be seen dead in it and is now actively lobbying for me to buy a GT. In that sense it’s done exactly what I needed it to do!

Hmmmm... I did a few jobs around the house, and a few make do repairs as I couldn't get what I wanted at the time.
Did next to no car stuff, but offset this by buying the Assetto Corsa back.
Next, juggle house stuff, build a garage or move, no clear idea yet.
Sicily, ( House there,) although I'll probably leave that until the end of the year if at all this year.
Sort out the fleet, too many cars, but I like them all lol.
Get out and about, meet people,Gigs and drumming.
Drive the cars.
I'm burn't out just thinking about it! lol.

Maser... clean the ivory leather - never got round to it at end of summer and been in hibernation since end Sep

Forester - nightmare!! Front subframe cradle went whilst driving... then found side frames needed replacing... but no bolts exist in the UK and they don’t seem to be available from Japan..

205 - seems to be overheating. May need to get the engine out and lag the pipes. Very small rust spot on door frame

R5 - another nightmare... never peel back the onion as they say. The more we stripped, the more fu*ked it was.... hope to be done by end Q1 but nearly total rebuild...

Impreza V3 Sti - needs a respray to be honest. Refurb some Speedline ST2’s and fit. Install the Grp A full system I had hand made from Hayward & Scott (see 22b)

22b - couple of interior small cosmetic jobs. Remove the Grp A full system. I had Hayward & Scott make it but have done 0 miles on it as I found a brand new OEM V4 Sti system. The original one was not in perfect condition hence the change.

Elise.... has not turned over in 5 years. Work and life took over and with 2 growing kids, not enough seats!! Long term recommission project!!

Think that’s enough for now.....

Seem to be no closer to buying a Maserati. Wife wants a new house, me dropping £20k+ on a GranSport would be taking the ****. Oh well.

GTA’s gearbox has been rebuilt, fresh MoT, service. Ready to rock.

Good thread.

CarPlay. Done
Replace pig-iron exhaust manifolds with equal length 6-1 tubular headers, lose primary cats, replace secondaries with sports cats. Planned for before Le Mans
Replace front PPF where it’s starting to tear and peel back. Overall it’s done well. Impressed and would use PPF again
Use it! Oh, as soon as. Please.

My list was mainly snagging jobs on the SZ which was delivered back to UK just before lockdown and is now stuck there. Brakes replacement on the Fulvia this week and then book both it and the Giulietta in for Irish registration which hopefully I have planned well with proof they were brought into Ireland before the 31st December, fingers crossed

Bloody ****, that's proper work, good job. I'm almost embarrassed at my list extending only to 'getting trained professionals to do it for me because I lack the knowledge and skills and spanners.'

On the Strad, it’s all been ASBO stuff!
Maserati roof decal fitted.
MC Stradale side decals fitted.
Larini sports cats fitted.
Rear spacers fitted.
Roll cage + harnesses ordered.

Still to do, is fit the front spacers (bolts arrived yesterday) and, in due course, the cage and harnesses.
