I'm sure your knowledge is better than mine but there were still loads of IT contractors moaning in the weekend papers about the injustice of furlough not seeing the duplicity of their comments re tax.
Of course. If you have been working as a contractor with the benefits it brings and didn’t save for a rainy day, I have no sympathy. There is help available in Sweden if your business has taken a downturn, but you have to present your books and are barred from paying dividends for a period. Perfectly fair as far as I can see.

My daughter has just called me and her Wedding which was happening this Autumn now cancelled until 2021 due to many restrictions in place so this year I feel is well and truly wiped out.
Thankfully France's solidarity fund will keep paying me until the end of the year.
On with the Property renovations it is then.

Beats the crarp out of needing to buy a pretty frock and a wedding hat, Phil.

Neither of which, if we're brutally honest, would suit you.

My niece was supposed to be proposed to in The Maldives. Her fiancee had asked her Dad's permission and all (came as something of a surprise, that did!)

Anyway, lock down engagement. Originally wanted to get married April 2021. Not a bloody hope. Good Friday 2022 to get a venue.....

That will rival mine and Mrs C's engagement length. In retrospect, perhaps she was trying to tell me something :D

Well the Chinese government has just voted for Brexit by providing the UK with all the immigrant labour it will need for the next decade in the form of Hong Kong residents. Nice get out of jail card for Boris.

Oh and an IT gunslinger I guess it’s all those guys in single employee companies moaning that they could not furlough themselves having saved lots in tax for years by largely paying themselves in dividends. Given most of them are ‘paid’ 4+ times the furlough max it was all a storm in a tea cup really.
Mate of mine was on that NHS contract a few years ago that came to nothing
He was on 2k a week for hardly doing anything!

In the end it became so embarrassing he resigned.

At the rate of restaurants going out of business, the only place you'll be able to go out an eat in are KFC, Maccy D's or the pub!

Doubt it. If our 2 local Italian restraints are to go bye. 1 actually only opened during the pandemic and they’ve been stowed out with take away. I checked online and their socially distanced tables are booked out Fri/Sat for next 6 weeks.

Our fave pub has been rushed doing cook at home and take away. In fact they've cancelled my birthday lunch cos they need a holiday.

Some less good, less capable ones will go. I'm not crying over the loss of Upper Crust et al in terms of gastronomy. Clearly the impact to the job market, not so good :(

So, what do we think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich City Centre. I have to say I'm dead against it.....

And brain eating amoebas in Florida... loads of stuff out there trying to kill us... but more likely to be killed in the car or by a car.
