It wasn't necessarily the number, it was the manner...

Of course. Because if you were going to hide something by making it seem that people had committed suicide, the one thing you would absolutely do is make it look like they'd committed suicide in an unusual manner......

The one friend I had that has committed suicide did it in what, to an outsider, would look very very odd. Those of us that knew him kind of got it.

It very much depends on who was doing the ‘suiciding’, I would imagine. Loud and noisy seeds panic (outside threat), which as the authorities you’d seek to quell (hence rule as suicides).
Playbook on both sides is different these days...

So the omnipotent conspiracy creators aren't actually omnipotent

I don’t follow the logic of “the one thing you would absolutely do is make it look like they'd committed suicide in an unusual manner......”

Makes no sense to me.
That would bring more attention to the event itself by the very nature of its perculiarness...... especially if it happens time and time again, within a set of individuals.
Perhaps these strange circumstances reflect the fact that these individuals weren’t gonna lie in bed and down a thousand pills, slash their wrists and sit in the bath or indeed hang themselves (without being covered in bruises etc) of their own accord and therefore needed some persuasive assistance.

The more peculiar, the more suspect imo.

What I’m getting at is that if you were an outside force (say, Russia at the time), you’d seek to destabilise - loud and noisy - seeding doubt and panic. So the more peculiar and weird the death, the better.
Of course, having the public believe that there are a bunch of spies crawling over the UK offing people during the Cold War is not great for the UK. Undermines faith in the government etc - so it was played down.

If it was an internal (ie taking out our own), then there are simpler, easier and far quieter ways to get rid of people. And I would agree, certainly far fetched.

Ok I’ll take a look.

Got one for you which relates to my interest in finance and *** bankers. After the financial crisis a number decided they were “tired of life”.......while the financial system collapsed.

There’s a fascinating 4 minute video to watch involving a senior banker in one of Italy’s biggest and
Most bankrupt banks

All very suspect. And all too likely.

On the subject of financiers, whatever happened to those chaps caught on a Swiss train (might be somewhere else) trying to get a vast amount of bonds/cash out of the country?

In 1945, would that be? Bilderberg Group.

So the new float is out......
We’re now determining policy on whether we can ensure families have 5 days together at Xmas.

Oh I see. So ar we saying there was more than one conspiracy?

Russian to destabilise + UK to hush up
Russian to destabilise + UK to 'remove' + UK to hush up overall

Haven't seen the latest figures for a while.
I know there is a delay to lockdown measures taking effect, but not looking good at the moment.

Certainly on the increase here on mainland Europe Mike and we are waiting for Macron to address us.
Bars and restaurants certainly won't be open until January 15th at the earliest.
We have nearly 5,000 in ICU.

Not looking good in the way that
14 day death trend is dropping (due to pre-lockdown actions)
14 day case trend is dropping (possibly due to lockdown)
14 day new admissions seems to be flattening (due to pre-lockdown actions)
you mean?

Interesting that Spanish PPE procurement chap got £21 million for making a few phone calls. Nice work when you can get it!
But how much was the total deal? Billions? PPE was at a premium, he got it in for the NHS.
One thing that stinks about the procurement process though is this fast track recommendation by an MP or a lord. Smacks of cronyism.

It does a little but if all of a sudden I find I’ve got a likely flooding issue this weekend I’m going to ring up the guy at the plant supplier I’ve known for 20 years and ask him to get me some pumps, I’m not going to put it out to tender. I know the values are different but the tender process in government probably takes 12 months.

This is it, really. You're always going to go with people you know. Great analogy
