ASTON MARTIN V8 VANTAGE COUPE 4.3 MANUAL FOR SALE

Well after a little discussion on here and in my head I've decided to commit to the sale of my lovely look and lovely sounding V8 Vantage. A combination of factors and projects mean I must put on my sensible head and accept I am unlikely to drive the car much over the next 12-24 months. I already have 4 cars tucked up in garages only getting occasional use so seems crazy to make it 5!

I have always wanted an Aston Martin as a kid and when the opportunity came along last year with a deal seeing my old Chimaera going as part of the deal, I couldn't ignore it. I know I will have another at some point in a couple of years’ time and cannot really fault the car Aston have made. It is a perfect size, package, proportion with epic sound, strong performance and a novel manual gearbox. The steering is probably the best I have felt and the engine, brakes, ride and handling are spot on in my opinion.

I’ve added a remote control Fuse22 kit which allows you to open or close the exhaust valves at any point on demand. It also has a memory function so will start closed the next morning for quieter start-up to keep the neighbours happy. Sounds spot on to me with valves open as plenty vocal enough without being too much. Then civil when you want it to be. I’ve had no desire to modify it as think it is really well judged unlike the 4200 that I still haven’t found that happy medium with yet.

I have contacted Collecting Cars and am looking to get it listed on their auction site as soon as I can. I thought I would officially post it up here though in case there were any lurkers or potential takers before it goes up to auction. Once it is listed with Collecting Cars the buyer pays a 6% buyers premium so a quick chance to snap up a bargain without the buyers fee.

Here are all the specs/details and a few pics to kick off with. I will add to this as anything further is found or remembered.

I have had a good look around to see what is on the market at the moment and discussed price with my brother as well to gauge a realistic price. If I listed it privately I would advertise it at £24995 to look to achieve £24k I guess being honest. Nearly had a deal with a forum member over the weekend with car swap + cash deal but it didn't quite work as we needed both ways. I would prefer a straight cash sale but always open minded to any other deals that achieve a sale as my brother is in the trade and can help me shift a car if I need to work a deal.

In summary a straight honest, well sorted example with decent mileage, low owners, good history and great colour combo. With nothing I know the car needs in the short to medium term and nothing needed to spend immediately.

Any questions or info required just let us know.

Thanks
Dean

Not a fan of Astons, but it looks impressive

If you don't need the cash I'd just keep hold of it for12 months or so

Come the autumn when sways of the population are going to lose there jobs, selling an old Aston Martin isn't going the happen!

Beautiful car Dean. I so wished I had a spare space in my garage to buy it. It sounds like a superb example that won’t need anything beyond regular service anytime soon.

Looks great - GLWS.

Does it sound simple enough with Collecting Cars - do you do all the photos etc, provide the advert info and then just proofread the advert?

I do love a vantage, and wow, so much car for the money and obviously very well looked after.

I'm with @zagatoes30 on the silver bits though. I honestly think if you was to remove the wrap on the pillar and grill, it would be a much easier sell.

Good luck

One ticked off the list that I haven't done Dean although my Dad had a DB5 so I have been in a AM and was driving a Vantage when a lady decided to rear end me.
Good Luck with the sale :)

Thanks all

Only thing I am considering is putting a quick private sale up in the usual places before giving Collecting Cars the go ahead.

What would you do as a potential buyer if you had the option to buy the car private at say £24k or buy on Collecting Cars for the auction price plus the 6% buyers premium?
