Funnily enough I was at Blenheim Palace a couple of months ago, but no, I didn't take the loo! I was in the 400, so it wouldn't have fitted anyway.

BTW, what a lovely Rangie. Just the ticket on a cold and miserable day like today, when the Maser is tucked away and toasty.

that is rather nice, but are they fairly reliable these days, you do hear a fair few horror stories about reliability. breakdowns and **** aftercare from the main stealers

Avoid the SDV6 or TDV6 3.0D and hope for a non Friday afternoon one.

4.4SDV8 or 5.0 Supercharged would be my choice only ATM. Hybrids etc are too young to decide reliability.

I haven’t played Cludo for years but I’ll have a go,

Ewan,
Using the 400 decoy (staff doing the heavy work in a rangie)
Blenheim Palace.

My Hybrid Autobiography has been good as gold so far. Now 4 years old and has done about 35k miles.
That’s great to hear. My Brothers hybrid has been perfect also (Although 9 months or so since delivery it’s obviously not a massive achievement)..

My friend who is very much a RR fan boy (one new full fat, and two classics) swears that the V6 drives better than the V8 diesel, having had several of both, currently the V6.

Petrol everytime. The dpf's on the diesels are a nightmare unless it is a motorway/longer journey car.

Typical Jag problem.
Mines not a full fat rangie but she’s the 3l supercharged and goes like stink.
My Mrs loves it and that is worth the universe.
Sounds good too, not mazzer good admittedly but what does?

Our RR S/C makes no sense here, road tax is horrendous, but we just love the way it does everything we throw at it- only this weekend seats down and in went a muddy wet Christmas tree, once removed a quick clean inside and hoover put the seats back up and then out on a freezing fogey night. Heated seats all round, heated steering wheel super comfort and easily made short work of mud, rain, fog and ice to get us there and back safely

As Ewan said - nothing better than jumping into a Range Rover after a long miserable day, or in the early morning, or late in the evening or at anytime really. I would honestly say that it is the best car in the world.

Love Range Rovers had 3.
Currently thinking quite seriously about getting a Sport from either Belgium or Germany as so much cheaper than here in France.

I’ll politely disagree.

Although the main reason for avoiding the 3.0 is the well documented crankshaft failure.

My local LR specialist has many examples of V6 failures, they have scrapped 5 Disco4s already this year. As well as the crankshaft issue I believe there is the inlet manifold failure which is a labour intensive job. I am on my second TDV8 and would also love a 5.0 S/C.

I can't comment only his opinion, although he only keeps them a couple years and does bugger all mileage, not long enough to unearth any problems with them before changing again.
Was only speaking to him a couple of days ago and it was in for its annual service, 2K miles since last year and they where trying to convince him to upgrade and its only 2 years old. It will have way less than 10k on the clock. He should have a SC model but like many, he is concious of the mpg, more than the massive depreciation!!

What age of RR are meant to be susceptible to the crankshaft issue and inlet manifold failure?

I have a 2016 SDV6 Range Rover Sport, and so far it’s been perfect...
