Doesn’t give the full details but the reason for this is that there are significant concerns in the auto industry about changes that can made to the safety and control systems on modern cars eg automated driving and on EVs the need to control battery charging/discharging/temperature management.

They said the same about those complex ICE engines I suspect - I mean all that flammable liquid.

This is a real threat to the "home car enthusiast/mechanic" there are countries in the EU already that ban any sort of modification, Sweden maybe? What about my human rights?

This is a possible huge threat to most of us, had an x pipe fitted? then it could affect you etc. if this happens we will have to take to the streets, direct action, and I will never vote Tory again

I recon its all about getting petrol and diesel cars off the road as soon as they can, this legislation covers almost anything that moves car wise!

Bunch of fuckw!t fuckpigs. That, at a stroke, will wipe out a billion pound business and alienate the Tory party. I'm so glad I haven't got that long left on this mortal coil. What a load of halfwit, sistershagging, eco friendly cnts. Fck the lot of them.

Bit of an under the radar public consultation from September to November. Why was it not picked up by all the car mags/Pistonheads etc? Was Nayf sleeping or was it me for 3 months?

It was, in the classic car weekly two weeks in a row! last week they said the Gov would give all classic car mods and the companies working on them exemptions but it wasn't cast in stone

This legislation is coming sooner or later... they did mention it was for future vehicles not for one currently built, but I wouldn't trust them on that!

Sounds to me like any modification will mean an MOT fail at some point in the future, mentions classic cars and Motorsport but many cars still rolling off production lines have many modified parts available , you can almost rebuild the S550 Mustang to exactly how you want it off the shelf

The GR Yaris is only just over a year old but there are dozens of modifications for it already

They need to worry about how many halfwits have driving licences rather than what they're driving.

Anything, or everything with, at first, an eco bias. Talk about Big Brother taking over, this just takes the lid off Pandora's box. Cnuts.

Has anyone defined what constitutes a mod? I’ve added an air freshener! Most exhausts are 3rd party- they can’t insist on you buying OEM, so as far as I can see, more or less anything goes
