Battery keeps draining QP5 09

Any recommendations I keep getting a dead battery when left overnight. I drove 180mile trip. Then left it a week and got a flat battery. The battery is only one year old so still under warranty. I charged it up to get it running last night. Took it for a quick 10min drive to fill up and dead battery again in the morning

First thing is check that the alternator is performing correctly, if it is, then battery is most likely knackered.

I had an issue with the cabin fan - even tho' engine was turned off and ignition key removed it kept running hence a flat battery overnight - MrRR did well to hear it. Problem could be solved if you remembered to turn the fan off. For a more reliable solution Roary is with SI - Matt did tell me why it was happening - a bit complicated and he concluded down to Italian electrics or something like that.

Did you give it a good overnight charge?
A 10 min drive, isn't going to charge it enough if it's been flat.
The cold weather breaks weak batteries, so although its only a year old, it could still be knackered, especially if you've been letting it go flat on a few occasions.
-Charge it up over night
-Get it load tested
-Check alternator output
If all the above is OK start looking for parasitic drain.
If you type 'battery drain' in the search box top right, you'll find many threads.

Thank you all. I'll give it a good charge. Then get it load tested and remember to turn the air con off just in case

So car has been working great since getting a full 24 hour charge. That's the good news. Bad news discovered passenger footwell light is not turning off even after exiting car and locking...

Quick work round until you find the cause is take the bulb out.

Sounds like one of the micro switches in the door is sticking or stuck. You could try a battery reset and see if that cures the issue. If not then its door card off and spray the micro switches for the door handles with contact cleaner and cycle the switches a few times.

Is the drivers display showing the door open ?

Standard bulb or LED?
I've had an LED bulb in my boot that stayed on, when replaced with filament, all was well.

Standard bulb. Have removed the bulb to stop the battery draining. Has anyone upgraded to LED? Or isit not worth the hassle and should just replace the light unit?

If the footwell lights stay lit and then fade after time I would not use led. They just start to flicker. Had the same issue with leds I put in a Range Rover. I would first try a full battery reset, we know how they get messed up not locking, seats messing about and all manner of weird electrical issues due to low battery and Italian memory.
