Crewe’s Learned Union of Notably Great Engineers. Would the acronym for that be ok, as well as helpfully describing the category of banter that such a forum would offer?

I confess, that's not an organisation I'm familiar with. Is it similar in purpose to the Crewe Unified Notable Teachers? Obviously for engineers, though.

when I have grown out of every tailored trousers or linen shorts and adopted the sports casual look a Bentley Conti might be parked outside. Still a dog man (Italian Greyhound / whippet ) for now but one day I might be Cat Funt.

Always been a nice place to be but older ones a bit stuffy and formal, mandating just one sitting position. Really love their splendid new interior but maybe that was the influence of the VAG group?

I have an Arnage T and it’s the old school charm that appeals with the 1950’s 6.75 litre with twin turbos belting out 450 HP and 12MPG.

Anyway, you don’t have to drive it as Just sitting on the quilted leather with engine turned ally dashboard and solid metal organ stop switches is a tactile pleasure denied the VAG generation where the latter are chromed plastic! I love to park it by the Arnage village sign where I regularly have lunch at Ville Cloche. My Mrs agrees it’s an old gits car and hates it!

Suspect that, just like Maserati reliability stories, every bar room drunk knows a bloke who has a pal who's Bentley cost £xxx to fix every week.

My fist Maserati had c50% of its purchase price spent on warranty and repair costs.

This is my wife's Citroen DS3 Cabriolet the day we bought it for £9k from Drivers of Prestatyn with a 6 month warranty, 4 months later the roof failed! the dealer thought they could fix it easily. Ended up they had it for over a month, they had to replace the whole roof and mechanism at a cost of £6k to themselves (under warranty). We had a courtesy car from them for the whole time, the manager of the dealer personally returned the car back to her with a nice bouquet of flowers, a very expensive box of chocs, a bottle of Bollinger and a new 12 month warranty as well as a huge apology..............Which we accepted!!

Good service and a model for dealer concern. if only there were more good stories instead of the usual stealership tales of woe.

We were astonished at the level of service from what is an average car brand at the end of the day, and have nothing but praise for them, which I am sure is what they are after achieving!...........Job done!
