BEST OUTDOOR COVERS

Anyone got any recommendations for the best car cover for a '19 GT? Just about to have it detailed and ceramic coated, but I suspect it wont get huge use over the winter. The MB GLE will be getting that punishment. Garage full of junk, so I need a quality cover to see my GT through the winter. Thanks

Ditto above. However I tried one the 'better quality' independent providers. Well 2 attempts. Dreadful.
In the end I bought an oem, but seldom use it because of above

Could you just put an indoor cover over it just to protect it from bird sh!t etc. Or would that cause more damage to the paintwork?

I wouldn’t bother they can cause damage especially if condensation builds up and the sun gets on it. If it’s ceramic coated it will be fine just wash regularly and inspect for bird sh1t.

Ive used one for the last three years without issue...( winter/dormant use only)
It fits, its only ever on a clean car, and I watch for condensation and mitigate build up as/before it happens...

Stormshield here, however mines a GC and I want to prevent fading of the roof, the car is ceramic coated. If I had a fixed top then I don't think I'd bother, it's inconvenient sometimes to have to wash the car before putting on the cover as life sometimes gets in the way, and the car really does need cleaning before putting a cover on.

Thanks guys, probably start with regular cleaning and hope the ceramic does its job. A lovely job for those crisp winter days!

I have an OEM one but don't use it anymore, used to get condensation underneath it so figured it was better to just leave it exposed

A garage is good but detritus (dust and spider poo) and condensation can build up. Using an indoor cover can scratch or rub the surface so you have to ensure that the car and cover are clean.

I've currently got mine under a car port, it still gets dusty but at least the condesdation isn't building up and I can live with that.

I use an 'ultimate' from Classic Additions on the Spider. Always make sure its clean and dry before covering for any period. I've not used an outdoor cover on anything else as they were ceramic coated. I cleaned down with the jet wash often though.

If your not using it much over Winter I would get a Carcoon, worth the extra money over a car cover imho.

I have Carcoons and they are good as long as you keep a check on ventilation, even with the fans condensation can build up unless checked often. Size is important too, isn't it always, you need to ensure that the cover doesn't rub on any corners of the car in the wind.

Just about to build a car port on the side of the house as I think keeping the weather off but with good ventilation will be better

Agree with this. A small garage with no ventilation is likely to cause more damage than just leaving the car outside.

For me a cover works well for short periods. Mine seems to get more use in the summer to keep off bird mess and general summer dust.

This winter my car will go into storage for the crappiest months. It's just easier!
