Chaps, have an interesting problem with the alloy fitted pipe on the Pwr steer pump leaking fluid just all of a sudden! Very tight to get at but removed pipe, replaced "O"ring seal but still weeps fluid. Anyone had this problem or hard of pipes being cracked? Maybe the "O" ring seal needs to be the perfect size or will leak? Cheers

Hello tappets, sorry to hear you have a leak, having worked on my other cars with similar issues, sometimes a leak can be coming from another part of the pipe and is not obvious at first, are you sure it's leaking from the "O" ring connection and not running down the pipe from higher up???

I've located the culprit............pump hose where alloy fitting locates in pump is cracked and leaks under pressure. Now searching for good used RH drive pump hose can anyone help? Cheers

David Askew would be my first port of call. I have a very slight weep from somewhere on mine. Doing timing belt soon so plan dealing with it at that point.

Can it not be brazed as a repair if it's the alloy part or failing that it's worth asking a plant and machinery hydraulic hose company to make a new one, assuming you cant get a replacement anywhere. If it's the rubber part they can cut off the old pipe crimps, replace hose and re-crimp the old fitting, done it many a time on hard to find hydraulic/oil pipework

Yes DA can supply me one............the alloy fitting is fractured and will open up when flange nut done up on pump fitting so need new hose which will be on its way shortly. Looks like it was misaligned over tightened by who ever did it last and just decided to give way during a drive. Recent frosty mornings here won't help either! ATF everywhere so big clean/de grease job  Cheers to all.

Was looking at mine yesterday and I seem to have a leak from top of the pump. Not sure if a seal or the pump itself.

I think @ 25 Quid OEM used will do the trick then I know its right. Only way to ascertain where leaking is to clean area well, run car so under pressure and see where its coming out ...........I hate leaks messy and hard to find!o_O
