Apart from Eurospares and Davis Askew is there an alternative source or even an Alfa etc compatible replacement.
Many thanks.

What’s wrong with it? Can you get it rebuilt?
Slight leak which has come to light when changing the timing belt. Also apparently there is a bolt which needs to come out to do the belt has welded itself into the casing.

The USA one needs mine back as an exchange so wont be cheaper by time we do that. There is someone claiming it is the same as a Ferrari 308/328 but the picture looks nothing like the biturbo unit. Wary about buying a used one as it might be worse than my own. Many thanks .

Stewart- did you get a result on this?

I think I've got one in the garage- I wonder if it's compatible...
Yes I did thanks! Being fitted as I type. Of course this flagged up other issues to be "sorted" whilst it was out and these are ongoing as well. Havent seen the car in months now but plus side is it is living happily on the garage's ramp so I can move toys into the space it normally occupies.
If I can find other issues for them it should tie in nicely with the weather improving.
If I find other bits I might need I will keep you in mind if that is ok. Once mechanical stuff attended to there are usual electrical gremlins to address including power permanently going to air con and lights etc. even with ignition off. Garage are looking forward to getting to the bottom of that. On the plus side the temperamental air con/blower is working a treat. Suddenly decided it would behave after a new battery fitted. Coincidence? Who knows?

did we discuss fitting my 'old' AC controller temporarily; to see if it made a difference..?

I drive past Tain every month or so at the moment, going up and down from Thurso.

You did kindly offer. However "at the moment" it is behaving beautifully. Well it was when I last saw her. There was a blast of air out of the vents after the new battery that blew my wig off and huge amounts of dust and assorted debris came through so guessing that was the first time in many years it got past an asthmatic puff. Will see what she is doing when I get her back.

Thread drift on the thread I started but.....

Car now has new belt, water pump etc and garage working on usual electrical gremlins.
Aircon unit was staying on even with ignition off among other issues.
Garage has found the relay for the aircon is melted and this is that issue. Need to source a replacement but anyone any ideas if this relay controls anything else in the car?
Cooling fans were sticking on (but not since new thermostat housing and thermostat) and now the temperature gauge is not working. Wondering if there is a link.
I have kindly been given a link to the wiring diagrams which I have passed to the garage for their use.
Headlight bulbs seem to last 15 minutes before packing in. Is this a known weakness?
