Not a link as such, but I had a set that came via Marios at Autoshield. He had fitted them to the car I bought.

were they large like the originals and covered the entire centre of the wheel, hiding the wheelbolts, or were they just small caps to cover the centre bore hole leaving the wheel bolts exposed?

Here’s some pics. My blue car has the ones from Marios. My green car has the originals.

As best as I know, the only difference is the originals have plain silver tridents, while the replacements are coloured.

That was serviced by Emblem a few years ago. They may be able to give you a few pointers.
Alas Myles didn't have any pointers.
I'll check in with Mark Donovan. DVLA route will inevitably lead to nowhere. Instagram call might have to be it...

Here's a period photo for you Nayf, taken in around 2001102118

Well, tried a more direct approach. No bites yet.

Wonder how much it would be to respray a different Cup (properly)…

Your biggest challenge would be finding a decent bodyshop, I have yet to find one that can do a decent job and I have tried many. If you wanted it done properly it would have to be a bare metal repaint, any bodyshop that values its reputation wouldn’t trust what’s under the existing paint, particularly on an older car. You’d easily be looking at £10k+, it would probably be cheaper to do Topaz Skin or a wrap.

I guess a wrap would be the best option as it keeps some semblance of originality. And it protects the paint, unless it rips it off.

Haven't given up on M17CUP, though it might come to wandering around Maidenhead looking for familiar shapes under tarpaulins.

Nice in white. Long sales pitch in advert which seems to be just a late Japan delivered GT automatic with some typical Japan ‘upgrades’ and aftermarket things by local dealer. Nevertheless nice when brought back to standard EU specs. Priced as a manual (especially for UK)

Unfortunately, the tide has turned for imports from Japan. It was a great market while it lasted but now you're looking at paying at least 20k plus tax, plus shipping, which will nudge it all up closer to 30k for a half decent Ghibli.

I've used goonetexchange for 2 imports and they've been great, but the market and exchange rates have changed to the extent that I personally wouldn't consider it now.

Isn’t it £6000 for a container these days?

That's what I did with mine.

Avery Dennisson Intense blue is quite similar to blu francia.

My car needed a respray, it was stored under a outdoor carcoon, but with the time and the wind, the paint was damaged. I always fancied "blu francia" but wasn't sure it was really for me.

Before biting the bullet and doing a complete colour change, I told myself, "why not a covering?".

So I purchase the vinyl and did it myself (I know, it was a stupid idea). It's not as hard as you can imagine, but it takes a lot of time.

The result is quite nice, at least as long as you stand a few feet away.

Before (ten years ago, the paint not damaged at all) :

After :

But it only teach me one thing, I want it painted in blu francia, I'm sure of it now. The vinyl is not as shiny as the paint, but it looks quite nice.
