Hi, one of rear door speakers seem to have blown, its has a very distorted sound. Are they easy to change, are they anything special or can any audio shop replace . Car is a 2009 QP S with a standard Bose system . Thanks

I bought a pair of Focal 165AS . They are only mid range price for the front ( check size as miy car is a GS ) I think i paid about £110 for the two fronts . They are a very good sounding speakers compared to the equivalent Alpine .

But you can’t just change the speakers on a Bose system. It has very specific equalization that will not sound good on other speakers. You must add a DSP and amplifier in order to do it right. That’s what I did on my GTS - Focal speakers all around, Morel sub, Audison amp and bitOne DSP.

Sorry I think this is unlikely. The Bose has a DSP and while there are speaker systems out there that have very specific frequency expectations (I'm thinking Acoustimass), I'm prepared to be proved wrong, of course, however I will further observe that the only additional part number that appears to exist for the premium Bose system (not my name) on the Eurospares diagram is for the door 'woofers' . In no way does this indicate a specialist speaker response.
