A free 'wheels' themed festival held over the bank holiday weekend.

www.bournemouthwheels.co.uk

Check out the website & follow the links to whats on etc

This sounds a great new event. The 'prom' and centre of Bournemouth is being taken over by us wheel nuts over the bank holiday weekend. They claim to have Formula One cars, Supercars, Classic Cars, Military Vehicles, BMX bikes etc etc. There are displays, demonstration runs and even fireworks. Someone is even trying to jump over the pier (on a motor bike) !

If you wish to display your car you need to pre-register by contacting James Hodgson at james@rel-event.com
You will need to provide the following information:

Name
Name of Club (clubs need to be preregistered*)
Vehicle Description
Registration Number
Day/days on which you will be attending
Mobile phone number (to contact driver on the day - kept only for emergencies & not used in any other way)
Email address (to send an E-pass and instructions)

*If you don't wish to attend 'on your own' the Italian Auto Moto Club might have a few places available on our club stand (for Italian Cars/bikes!), please contact Olly on ollyyelow@gmail.com

Hi Nick

May/June/July is pretty crowded. We are on holiday over the next week so will miss Brooklands. But do hope to make BWF (Bournemouth Wheels), Goodwood Breakfast Club (open tops) 1sr June, ADC 8th June, Castle Combe Classic Action Day 28th June & Simply Alfa - Beaulieu 29th June. AND Poole Italian Stallions 25th July.

The BWF show sounds pretty good. I think it's being run in association with the people who run the Bournemouth Air Show so it should be professionally organised. Lots for families to do without being too car themed (how could an event be too car-y:unsure:)

If SportsAlfa were to act quickly and register as a club, you might be able to get a club area - and the opportunity to promote the forum.

Best of luck with the MOT

Hi Phil,
I'm exhibiting. It may be too late to organise anything for the SportsItalia group - but anyone can spectate. Last year was pretty good - the overcliff (higher prom) is used for high speed runs. A bit like the Brighton Speed Trials. You get pretty close to the action.

I'm taking part this year; looks like a great event and I am looking forward to blasting up and down the cliff road. See you there.

The entry for this has now closed, i'll organise it for next year and we can enter as the Sport Maserati Forum, and get ourselves parked up together

Hi Martin,
I'm attending on Sunday. I have an 'independent' (Bournemouth Wheels Festival Club) entry but will probably turn up with friends in the Italian Auto Moto Club - trying to aim for arrival at 1/4 to 9 at Boscombe - you'd be welcome to tag along. (Obviously I don't know if the marshals will insist on Bournemouth Wheels Festival Club entrees being in a separate area) Forecast isn't looking too good!

Hi Adam,
Will keep a good look out for you. Best of luck. Oh, and after last year's cliff road supercar track action I've bought some shares in tyre manufacturers!

I'll be down there on both days, walking along the sea front. I'm in Westbourne which is on the other side of the Bournemouth Pier from the entry point at Boscombe pier

I contacted the organiser of this asking if I could come along but was told that it was for the much older cars. Will give it a miss I think.

It's been a cracking day - latest hypercars, historic F1, pre war and lots of noise. Worth the trip if you are in the area.

Yep, flying the flag for Maserati - I thought my car was loud, but there's a one off Lambo Iota and and Ultima with straight pipes that scare the living cxxp out of unsuspecting bystanders!!

Hmm that's strange as when I asked they said it was classics only. One for a forum stand next year perhaps as MLC has mentioned.
