Hi all,

Any idea what it costs to get the GT brake callers done in red - mine are silver but prefer the red.

Cheers

No idea, cause i live far away from your country.
I can suggest though, get them covered properly before painting in order to prevent the pistons of the caliper painted.

Someone on here did have it done, was it Enzo?

£480 seems to spring to mind but that is with you supplying the calipers off the car.

Send him a PM (ENZ525)

I was also looking into this a while back and Loz did this and suggested a few places but can't find the thread, (will look for it again and will post up if I find it) if I remember some firms take the car in and all is done on the day where other you send them the units. I didn't get this done in the end as I found it hard to get the correct replacement logos.

if I remember Matt figure is about right - repaint + P&P + VAT, time to remove / refit will add to this

good luck and keep us posted as I may also look at this again

I can get them done for about £30-40 per caliper.

Mine is going in for calipers, hubs cleaned and a few parking dings removed.

In the south of England Phil, in Berkshire so close to London and accessible to most of the southern and central counties. Nick, my friend who details my cars offers this service and if you like I can put you in touch with him.

Thanks very much Contigo, that sounds a bit more reasonable! Not sure i would spend 500 to have it done. Thanks for all the replies!

Does that include keeping the Maserati logo in place, removal & re-fitting? Mine are currently black and I'd like them maserati blue.

You should be able to find some decals online, Chris. I bought some years ago when I was going to have my 3200 calipers painted red (never got round to it!) I think they're in the garage somewhere. From memory they were white vinyl in the correct script and size; the vinyl was suitable for high heat applications.

Hey Matt, you are correct, I did have my 550 calipers done...
I paid £250 at a place in nottingham < http://www.brake-caliper-painting.com >
I drove there very early in the morning, they took them off for me, blasted, painted etc, then re-fitted...
I had no brakes on the way home as a diagnostic machine is needed to bleed correctly (ABS, etc), so then had Roberto sort them for me,
at which point the paint near the bleed nipples discoloured straight away, so even though I thought the price was good, there is no way I would have them done there again.
At some point mine will go back to RED as they should be, and i will go here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pro-caliperscouk/175742892481364
They are not cheap, but they look great.
Decal wise, I can also vouch for supergraphicsf1.com I have bought a couple of sets from them and they are very good.

I've been quoted approx £600 for a full and proper strip and clean and repaint in red. Or, £3600 by Maranello to replace them!!! I can testify that you can get the logos on ebay to replace them and they seem ok - check the sizing on your calipers as there are a few sizes and styles out there.

Regardless I've decided to stick with the black ones as they are.

Does anyone know if its possible to get a caliper overhaul kit for 3200 Fronts as I suspect I have stuck piston ie Brembo Part number or size of pistons. I see there are companies above that will overhaul but that means sending calipers off which I could possibly do at home or is this a task that should only be done by professionals with specialist equipment?
