A message from Eurospares to Eu customers regarding the extra customs clearance fees and business thanks to Brexit
" Additional Courier Charges
DHL and FedEx may charge a small advancement fee for paying the import VAT upfront on your behalf. .....
Each country is different but the average charge is circa €15 or 2.5% of the value of the VAT they are paying on your behalf (whichever is greater).
..."
So at least 15 Euros more to pay for buying from UK some factory parts (coming from Italy?). Of course as an usual practice of the Courier you do not know the exact amount of the fees when buying :) .

Bit like looking at a car crash I guess.
But it's not. It's like photographing a car crash and then posting the photo saying we're all doomed and this is how we'll be departing for our eternal afterlife. And, in case you're all wondering, prepare to meet the chap with the cloven hooves and a troubling aroma of sulphur.

It gets worse! Even UK-Ireland now you can only import one litre of spirits, duty and vat on the rest. And on all personal items but you can claim those back but known the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland that's not going to be quick.

What about my iMac in Belgium? will they try and stiff me for duty and VAT on that too when/if I return?
