Can this be real?

Anyone know what kind of import duties would be incurred on an effectively brand new car? Still be good value, I'm sure.

I'm not sure I like the colour which looks pink to me (my daughter would love it) but putting that to one side what does "slightly affected by hurricane Sandy" mean? I suspect it means flood damaged.

That sure is a lot of car for the money... Seems strange that 'only the brakes' were affected? Must be flood damage, presumably over the wheels but if not run it won't be hydro locked or anything but there are an awful lot of electronics below wheel height, most of it I'd have thought. Maybe it didn't get in the cabin. Could be an interesting one for someone!

I think 20% VAT and 10% customs import duty as well, so you're looking at 30% of the cost plus shipping; so you're up to about £75K, then it may need some mods if the US lighting specs don't meet type approval over here (I have no idea if that's the case, but I do know some US cars have odd differences – e.g indicators same as tail lights :( ) . And probably more to insure due to odd history; and then you have a car which has much less resale value as the wheel is on the wrong side. Doesn't look such a bargain to me.

Hmmm... add the risks, uncertainties and additional costs together and maybe it's better to wait a short time until you get a decent Stradale for not much more. Mind you, hasn't the US version of the Stradale got four seats?

Any bets on when you can get a decent RHD one for <£80k..?

Pretty much now, there's a few knocking about around that figure behind the scenes. I was looking at one this morning, very tempted to put all my eggs in one loud basket!

I was tempted but I'm thoroughly put off now. Thanks guys.
I suppose the old adage about 'if it seems too good to be true........................................' is very apt.
Even if they would take an offer of sub 50k it could end up being a liability.
