I’m not a huge fan of Banksy - amusing but as much intellectual depth as a gravy boat - but I do quite like this remix.

Art is very personal - what is attractive and interesting to one person can mean nothing to the next.
I bought a Banksy at the most recent auction of his work, though am yet to have it framed and hung. Instantly recognisable by virtually everyone, and a good talking point when people see it.
If it goes up in value as the years pass, that’ll be a bonus. If it doesn’t, we’ll still have had years of pleasure from the ownership (which is what matters more).

The devil is in the detail C. The Nighthawks print is just that, so a nice picture for a modest sum, whereas the Lichtenstein silk screen is 'just' one of a run of 280 so value-wise it can't be compared to an original of anything - and for c£40k!

What I can't get my head around is someone paying c$300 million for the original of this:

It needs a trained commoners eye Phil, Quite obviously you can depict the King is as naked as the day he was born , any one who see's different is bourgeoise and must be put to the guillotine which is where PhilW comes into play .....just saying

It's one from his series of anti-war piccies, showing a young girl holding a bomb. Can't remember the name from the top of my head, but maybe Bomb Love (or something similar to that).
