Car won’t unlock

Hi all - I have a 2017 ghibli and on 2 occasions now my key fob will not unlock the car. The car battery is absolutely fine (it is often trickle charged). The issue is not with the key battery as when the problem occurs neither of the two fobs will work. After 10 minutes or so the fob just works again and car will unlock and start no problem. Has anyone else experienced this ? Any easy fixes?

Has it happened twice at the same place? Had it before in a car park where they stuck a phone mast in the centre. I used to park away from it and never had another problem.

I’m thinking along the same lines as Gaz. My Volvo used to that all the time in my folk’s drive never did it anywhere else. There was a radio mast not far away, I reckoned it was interference.

Does it do it in a specific location?

hi guys thanks For the replies - the two occasions it’s happened have been in different places. Once on my Drive where I’ve never had the issue before.

If your key fob refuses to work you can always use the emergency key. It’s not difficult to find, they stack hundreds of them up in the shape of houses. Take one and throw it at the transparent key hole situated in any window. Access can be gained in seconds and it will give you somewhere to sit while you wait for your recovery service of choice. You’re welcome.

Are you sure you've got the right car?

Only saying as a mate of mine spent half an hour trying to get into his new Fiesta parked at Lakeside shopping centre a few years ago (about 20) with no joy.
In the end he called the AA out.

Just as they turned up the actual owner of the car turned up and opened it up and drove off. :rofl5::rofl5::rofl5:
He was parked a in the next isle a bit further down.

We've never let him forget it! :f2:

Few years ago we woke to find a tatty car blocking our gate. No way could we get out of our house, Didn't recognise the car and looked like the car had been there overnight. Eventually called the Police giving them the car details. Short while later we get a call from friends who had come to dinner the previous evening and got a taxi home afterwards and then gone out for the day...
