CC Gearshift software

Urban legend has this as being the same hardware as Alfa sillyspeed / 4200 CC (pre 2005) 4200 CC (post 2005) / 360 F1, with the only difference being speed of change (in ascending order as listed) and this comes from the software.

That being the case, can we just reprogram to get a faster change a la 360?? Is anyone doing that mod (if it exists?)

If this is doable, surely the 360 has better (tougher?) hardware in the gearshift dept? And there are hardware mods advisable if doing the change?

NB mines a 2005 facelift (same gearshift as Gransport?)

I also remember Benny telling me that he had this done on his 42 or 32 depending on which angle you are looking at his car!!

Yes, I think Ben has 360 CS software on his. PM him. It may mean a trip to Manc chester to get it done, but I understand the difference is worthwhile.

Great, so it’s doable and a worthwhile mod, cheers. But does this mean that all gearchange hardware, clutch, pump, etc etc are the same across the cars mentioned? Would it be wise to upgrade any hardware (if indeed the 360 has different parts?)

Also: the Gransport was marketed as having a gearshift that was about 10 million percent faster or something than the early 4200? Any truth in that, or too be taken with a bucketload of Italian salt?
And if true, did the facelift 4200 also benefit?

Maybe it's you that got slower, Sparts. Or your brain processes information so quickly now that time feels like it's slowed down.

I very much doubt my brain has got faster as I devote alot of my time to killing brain cells . ..........................Potato

Is it just a matter of flashing the TCU?
Any special hardware needed to do this.
I very much would like to experiment :)

Not sure where the QPV MY06 Duoselect fits in with this but in Sport mode it's pretty near perfect - cr@p in Normal mode

In theory, shouldn't any specialist that can look after such cars do the work?

All the software does is run the CC pump at a higher pressure. Up the pressure, quicker gear changes. Its the same pump so can handle it.

I had it on a couple of my 4200/GS's coupled with a realtime PIS set and it transformed the car.

To do the realtime PIS set, you need SD connected whilst driving the car and get the car not to creep at idle but move as soon as you touch it....regardless of what number it claims.
