Some Blackpool kit cars command a lot more than that...

Yep - the World has indeed gone mad :)

Has it?... or are petrol heads having their last hurarr before they are driven to own a washing machine?

No problem with that but just struggle with the asking price of those TVRs .... especially given what can be had for significantly less.

I think people who spend that sort of money on a TVR want a TVR and nothing else will do.
As an owner I kind of agree with the Blackpool kit car statement, I’ve enjoyed owning my Cerbera but I wouldn’t recommend one unless you really desperately want one.

how about the price of this?

Still laugh when I think of the time I was queuing to drive onto the Eurotunnel. In front of me was a TVR with the top down, the other other line was moving first and some lads in a black Golf all shouted at the TVR guy 'TVR W@nker!!!'

Thanks for all the feedback so far.
I have 2 children so obviously a 4 seat makes most sense but who buys a car like this to be sensible, I think I’d prefer a 2 seat as they just seem that little bit more special to me I love the sparco seats and I have a family car for the kids.
I’m definitely not put off by the ex press car, if anything I think it adds a nice bit of history having been driven by Clarkson on Top Gear. I wouldn’t be worried about it being thrashed, as many have said it would have been well maintained and they are designed to be driven hard, also any other car would be a complete unknown as to how hard it was driven or maintained.
Before I can do anything I’ll need to sell my TVR privately to get a half decent price for it and I can’t really advertise it until it’s been serviced and MOT’d which I’ve got booked in at the end of May. So need to wait and see what strads are available then.

All very fair. The calipers were red when Clarkson drove it so it has clearly had some brake work. Just get the discs weighed so you know you aren’t staring down a very big bill.

I’ve owned it since April 2009 and I’m the 3rd owner (reg X221 FGO)
Colour is Jaguar emerald green with Portland leather.
It has 18” raceline RL7 alloys and a spare set of 18” spiders.
Upgrades include Nitron shock absorbers with Eibach springs, 330mm front discs, ACT sports exhaust (I still have the original back box), Joolz remap with new purple silicon induction hoses.
It had a front end respray done in 2016 by HHC at Hexham.

Service history,

will eventually be advertised at £32,995View attachment 84138
That looks fantastic and I’ve long held a fondness for the cerbera. And I’m currently a sucker for a green car.
But I already have a green V8 kit car from Birmingham (a Westfield), so not sure I can add one from Blackpool as well. Which is a shame.

That’s sacrilege, Westfield is in the Black Country not Birmingham.

First TVR I ever saw was on the A75 at Kirtlebridge, Dumfriesshire on the hard shoulder with its bonnet up and steam everywhere........

First TVR I ever saw was late seventies when my cool uncle visited with his even cooler mate. They were in his mates’ Taimar convertible with the legend Turbo on the sides. Not sure I knew what a Turbo was, but it was cool.

Sad postscript was that I can’t remember his name and he died on HMS Coventry in the Falklands war.

Apologies if I have posted this before, but I only have three experiences of TVRs. The above, plus a scary passenger ride in a brand new Griffith in the wet and an embarrassing moment when I borrowed the boss’ Chimaera in London. The young lady I was with twiddled with the door knob, which for some reason was on the centre console, popping open the door into oncoming traffic. Oops.

Also TVRs don’t breakdown...
Do they?

Mine never did, lots of other hilarity but it never broke down*

* tell a lie, ran out of petrol as the guage was 'incorrectly calibrated' (translation: they fitted the wrong gauge at the factory)
