I had a lengthy chat with Roland on Saturday. He’s going to do some test pieces for Sportsitalia and come on board as a sponsor.

Ill report back but from our discussion he knows what he is doing and has the correct epoxy rubberised coating.

Hi, did this ever happen, appreciate people are busy and this not meant to be critical of anyone, but there seems to be a number of "report back" posts in this thread that didn't. TIA

The test bits were sent last Thursday, due back later next week, I’ll post some pics.

Roland has now decided that he is not going to be a SM sponsor now.

Anyone know if Roland is still in the business of fixing sticky buttons? I did email him but not heard back and didn't want to hassle the guy. Any other UK recommendations? I noticed a firm called auto bella but they don't seem get any mention on the forum.

anyone heard from Roland Ive messaged him a few times but he hasn't come back to me since xmas. He said he would get back into it (had personal issues late last year) in Feb but all coms unanswered. I bet a lot of people like me have parts stuck there. I sympathise with the guy but life goes on, now its becoming a problem. I think I'll have to see if insurance covers it.

Getting the same issues yes. Shame if he’s stopped doing it.

He has also disappeared from FB (where I think he was an administrator or something like that) and another site

Perhaps this was hobby job that got away from him and became more time consuming that it’s worth.
There is certainly a demand for someone to step in if he is not doing it anymore.

I've just "de-stickied" my interior parts with Surgical Spirit and some wire wool - its incredibly easy to DIY.

That really only works if your buttons didnt get so bad that the white is showing through...!
and I believe his finish was cery similar to the factory “soft touch” finish.
Perhaps he is just on holiday

Roland is still doing the plastics, very much so. I spoke to him only yesterday. He's doing loads of work in the sticky plastics field for some very well known Maserati- Ferrari dealers & specialists though I don't know if appropriate to drop names so I won't. I get the impression it's his full time job now, so much work keeps arriving from those guys.
He's not on the forum much to answer DMs so best bet is to call or text him. Someone posted his number above
