A saggy cock? The seats I think are to blame, but the difference in seat height doesn’t translate to car height as they are really close!!

You can get pills for that.

If they’re not even it’ll sit on 3 corners with the other one floating. Imagine how you can sit on a chair with one leg not really doing anything.

Moving the spring seat is how you change ride height, and alter corner weighting....
...which is why, given what you have done on the rear already, you really need to get full geo ( scaling aka corner weighting) as well the wheel settings imo.

There's been a lot of verbal wandering on this thread but if you really are adjusting your coil overs you should install a metal washer between the nut and the rubber spacer. It should look like part 33 on this diagram https://www.ricambiamerica.com/car-...suspension-shock-absorber-and-brake-disc.html but I don't know if these spacers are metal (which they need to be). The reason for is is that part 7 is rubber and it catches in the notches of part 3 and you can't turn the nut without damaging part 7. You have to be able to turn part 3 with the shocks installed or else you'll go crazy trying to balance the car.

Yes I had that problem with the rubber washers on the rear, but thankfully everything came together with out damage to them. I’ll certainly consider a metal washer to isolate the parts. The front left shock has a seized adjuster so it has to come out to free it up, although the car looks well balanced with out me doing any work on the fronts. See pic, but I’ve just remembered that the steering boots Arrived and need replaced so I’ll be in there anyway. £71 for two wtf?. Does verbal wandering mean waffle? My speciality.....

I’m getting it looked at on Saturday. My mechanic can’t detect any chassis damage, but I note that I have a grandsport front bumper, so now I’m thinking why? I know that the car got its front end painted in the last two years but I was assured that it was tatty And not damaged. There are no signs of it pulling off centre and brakes in a straight line with no wobbling on the steering wheel. It’s really strange that the two fronts are so far off, and why was it so high at the back? Jasst how did you solve it or did you leave it as is? Thanks everybody for your help, I really appreciate it
I was trying to lower it to gransport specs, when I took the shocks off to adjust them ,I found the difference in length of the front ones, but one had been replaced by a reputable garage, I set them to the same length, but the car looked terrible, sagging on one corner, so I adjusted it back to its original dimensions, car then passed out of my ownership, but I know that new owner had same problem as he has given it a total restoration, I am not sure how he resolved it, but know he had d iscussions with Emblem sports cars about it. With regard to the steering rack , I have used these on my Gransport https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bailcast...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

Thanks everybody for your valuable advice, I’ll certainly get the PIS done and the shocks with your pointers. I’ll let you know how I get on.

So back to the 4200 saga. You may remember that the car sat at the same height at the front but the two shocks were at different levels. Well today I found out the reason: it would appear that one of the previous owners has hit the mother of all pot holes and this has pushed the strut up past where it’s supposed to be so making it lower on one side with out the shocks being adjusted to compensate. Is this a fault with the metal on these cars or have I just been unlucky. The car drives and brakes arrow straight but I’m sure can’t be the only one with this Otherwise there wouldn’t be strenghners available to buy. So what’s the consensus? Thanks in advance

Never heard of it on a Maser but others have more experience, maybe @philw696 has seen it.

Can you see that the metal in the strut tower has deformed?
