Any garage will be able to do this in about 10 mins. I would do it for you at the next meet, but I dont work on other peoples cars, on anything mechanical/drivetrain as I dont want to kill them!

Thank you Matt, for not wanting to kill anybody! (How do i get those smileys up here?)

Of course any good garage should be able to connect the two wires, but if you want to give your PP a real good second live, you should open, clean the vital parts inside and set up the PP circuitboard properly.
(No throttle 475Mvolt, full throttle 3300Mvolt)

But again, connecting the two wires is quite an improvement allready.
Don't forget to spray the connector with a good contactcleaner.

Dear All,

I have just re-fitted a new TB as supplied by Boomerang (Luuk) and all is well, many thanks to Luuk!

As per the instructions on this forum took off the old TB and sent to Luuk and then fitted the re-furbed TB and all is working well.

The Engine light is now on, which I imagine is to do with the new part being fitted and would need re-setting when next at a garage? Can anyone confirm this?

Going to also join the cables to avoid any limp mode kicking in as well.

Many thanks to Luuk and those at Expert Meppel could not recommend them enough, including the price which was very competative!

Regards

Paul

Just wanted to say on this forum a big fat Thank You to Luuk for all the advise and work he did for me to get my throttle body refurbed and back to me in the quick time that he did. The car is running beautifully and much prefer Luuk's prices to the quote of 6,000 euros I got from my local Maserati dealer here in Dubai. Great job and special service. Thanks again and viva Hollandia :)

That's great news!

Let's try to do a meet with Buster67 and a local QP who posts on the US forum.

I'm sending mine off to Luuk on Monday - bit of a pre-emptive fix, as I'm not having any problems but it's the original one so I suspect it is a bit more sensitive than it would've been originally! Looking forward to seeing what difference I can notice!

Preventative maintenance Nige , the best kind , Hopefully Luuks track record will prove fruitful , and continue to give you trouble free motoring the ,3200 T/body has been the bain of most owners lives , now a thing of the past with a reasonably priced fix and minimal labour costs , a win win at long last

regards loz

Almost certainly.

With any of these installs, it's always wise to reset the system with a SD2 as well as clearing out any residual or pending errors on the ECU anyway.

I'm always happy to plug in my SD2 and do whatever you like - within reason - for a flat rate, listed on the fixed price menu on my website (www.maseratished.co.uk). I'll even have a play with it yourself if you want to improve your understanding of the system and your car.

Mike.

contact data ???

To save time:

From now on, Contactless TB's in stock!
Just send your old unit in and a new one comes back immediately.(Transport time is the only limiting factor now.)
Units are completely dismantled with new bearings and seals, rotor sandblasted and sealed, everything ultrasonicly cleaned and mounted with a new anodisized alu cover.
This industrial high quality refurb is done at an automotive factory in small series, NOT at a private place.
After testing, every unit is plugged on a car for final tests combined with a ecu read out on the car for throttle response feedback.
Tb's finish is like a brandnew one.
More info:pM

Cannot see any contact data where to send.

Please assist.

Hi Roland, welcome to the forum. You could PM Boomerang. Just move the cursor over his username and click. You'll then get a window with the option to send a private message. He checks in quite regularly and will get back to you.

Gents,
Been reading these posts with interests, my baby has just gone into recovery mode, speaking to Maserati (Swindon), they believe it could be the throttle body, is there anyway to check this is the case. The car will not go above the allowed mph, but when out of gear, engine rev's fine.
Not knowing much about the engine bay as yet,not had any major problems where I have needed to get my hands dirty as yet. Where are the throttle bodies, are they easy to remove?? Where canI send them for the obstacles ones. Is it just a simple case of exchange or are some modifications required?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Have you tried a reset? Both battery and throttle body can be reset, disconect the battery for a while 5 minutes or so. When reconnected, set ignition on for a couple of minutes then switch off, switch it back on with throttle fully depressed and hold for 10 seconds or so, this will relearn the throttle pot max min positions. Thwere are alsorts of reasons that limp mode can occur and I would suggest you get the fault read before forking out for a contactless body (I've had mine done). Its also worth looking at the throttle pedal pot wire fix as this may also be at fault, I can't remember the exact change but a search on here should help.

Update:

We improved the overhauled contactless throttlebodies yet again.

A new second sidecap is introduced.
Till recent, the old caps where cleaned and repaired when necessary, reducing overall finishquality.

The aluminium bodies are mildly ballpolished now, to get a better resistance against oxidation.

The magnetic rotors are treated with a new epoxysealer.
In this way we can prolonge its lifetime and prevent oxidation and degenration causing "sticky butterfly".
