Cotswold

Taking my pride and joy to Cotswold for a blast tomorrow(Wednesday) for a few days
Any recommendations of must see/do things?
Also as it's 200 miles thought we might stop half way for a night in between Cotswold and York, any pointers? Nice area with decent ale house wanted, good roads, Derbyshire?

Foss Way is a great drive but watch for the cameras.
Try Lower Slaughter, Bidbury, Stow on the Wold for a pub or the Lords of the Manor, Bidbury Manor for a posh meal or cream tea.

Pubs I can recomend: Bell at Sapperton. The New Inn Coln St Aldwyns (also a great spock for a picnic at the end of the lane by the river)
Bath is at the edge of the Cotswolds as is Castle Combe. If you go there try the Manor House at CC or the Royal Crescent in Bath.

...but they are about three miles apart. Saw a Ferrari Superamerica last time I was in Lower Slaughter.

Totally agree the Royal Cescent is well worth a visit if you get as far as Bath, we had a fantastic time there!

The Fleece Inn, Bretforten is an interesting place with its one guest room and stories of witches etc.

To be honest we have never stuggled to find a nice pub etc when visiting the Cotswolds more a case of not enough time to visit all the one we spot!

You could check out the Lygon Arms, used to be exceptional, not been for years though..!!
