Keep us updated on the cost and who did it, I've seen anything from £1500 to £4000 being quoted though that may have been on a QP

I thought you meant Ashton Kutcher had died then! With "Cutch has gone" as the thread title.

Bad news sparts. Time to trade in a kidney.

Hi Martyn, sorry to hear your news.
You may consider upgrading to the F430 clutch and thrust bearing, as at least 2 cars over here I know of have.
The benefit is the wider tangs over the F360 clutch we have and bigger thrust bearing to take more load.
I driven Alvin's car in Melbourne with it and didn't really notice the difference, as I was more absorbed with his custom remap of the power curve. Another one in Sydney reports much smoother down changes with this set up.
It's the path I'll be taking when the time comes.

Its quite pricey tough is it not. For me, if it were a keeper I would do it though.

Isn't the 430 a twin plate clutch ? Does it really fit ?

The 4200 has a F360 gearbox with F430 clutch an engine (derivative)

The F430 clutch does fit. Interestingly though I was told by one source the F430 clutch still suffers the same spring tang failure and then by another it never fails???

Both are a twin plate clutch which differs from a twin clutch...so I am led to believe.

£50 v £350, so they don't bother, crazy

just had a look on eurospares flywheel is £191 + vat so about £850+vat for the complete clutch and flywheel

Just had a look at the F430 clutch, about £1800+vat clutch and flywheel

The problem with using a used flywheel is making sure its balanced properly before it goes back in otherwise you end up stripping it all out again to correct that cost more than makes up the up the £300 difference. I didn't think to was worth the risk for the sake of £300 so put a new one in.

The issue that some people do not realise, including me until recently, is the hammer a flywheel receives and thus prone to warping. Voicey showed Maverick and I a clutch that was recently changed on a F360 with a old flywheel. The result another clutch change as the clutch was only making contact with part of the flywheel and thus slipping.

Imagine spending £2k or so only to pay another £2.3k for the sake of £350.

Yes it does with one very minor mod.

Search the forum as I have previously posted

Alvins car referred to above is owned by forum member Getrdy

From memory he mentioned the clutch in his is from the 430 gt3 car which is the same unit as for the road car
