Does This GC Centennial Look Legit?

I was too slow and it sold......only to turn up with Giallo a couple of weeks later, so it would indicate it’s a proper car.

How much is the premium for buying from Giallo rather than the previous garage? Has the car been MOT'd now too?

Have now spoken with Matthew at Giallo and he confirms it’s the same car as at Aces Auto Mall that started this thread.

He says the proprietor owns the car and brought it to Giallo for an MOT that it’s now got. Matthew convinced him it would sell better at a specialist so it’s now a commission sale @ Giallo.

I’m awaiting a part ex price on my current GC and will take it from there. I’ve got 35k miles and FMSH with full documented Dinitrol underside treatment so hope the cost to change is reasonable.

Offered £18k trade even though he admits it could retail for low £30’s at a specialist dealer so I was expecting about £28k for it or to put it another way, about £40k plus my car to swap, but we are miles off!

Wow that is a low ball offer. Shame as that Centennial does look rather tasty!

Hey ho

Yeah, that's taking the pish, surely. Shame.

Gorgeous GC, though. What's depreciation generally been like on the Centennials; holding out any better than 'regular' GCs?

Wow, yours must be a total basket case!
Offer him 58k for his, still 40k to change then.

Yeah, he’s selling on commission for the owner who is the proprietor of Aces Auto Mall where the centennial was first spotted, so he can’t directly negotiate a deal.

Giallo agrees my GC is a good one and would retail it at low £30’s as Nero with Sabia with FMSH 35k miles and full dintrol underbody treatment. Matthew at Giallo told me it’s £5k to prep for sale, but I can’t see why as it’s a pampered garage queen in top order doing about £2k miles per annum.

Yes I could offer to Dickie or Nuvolara on SOR but it’s lockdown and my wife is shielding as ECV so I just wanted to do the deal if it was a simple part ex. I’ll just have to wait until another comes along or the owner of the Centennial is willing to negotiate. £40k plus my car and a deal would be done today!80744

Hey ho

That's insulting. It would instantly put me off buying a car from someone who offered that little for a very decent car.

As you know who the owner is, I would reach out directly and offer him £40k plus your car ... he can only say no.

The car dealers I have spoken to are slowing up massively, so worried about being stuck with cars, incase of further lockdown measures. Prep bills on older Masers aren't going to be cheap either. I understand both parties.

Sell your car privately then buy his, making a cheeky offer, win win

I imagine a black bonnet would be a boon when you’re hurtling down the Col de Turini in January in the dark, but the rest of the year it will look gopping.
