Don't race kids....

The accident does sound odd and couldn't have been much of a race between a sporty car and an A class, real sad loss of a young life, unfortunately some of the younger generation drive far too fast and recklessly and I've lost count of the number of times I've seen the youth of today on phones and tapping away whilst at traffic lights and junctions, completely oblivious to their surroundings, I think I remember seeing a really hard hitting government tv commercial once about a group of teenagers out in their car and the perils of driving and texting, wouldn't it be great if car manufacturers have some sort of mobile phone signal blocker installed in cars and trucks on production and phones could only be used if connected through built in hands free

found it, truly hard hitting tv commercial but it's reality and the youth need to see the shocking consequences, should re run it

Just seen the video. I guess the only positive thing in the whole affair is that she wouldn't have felt a thing. What a mess. What a waste.

We've all broken the speed limit. Having done over the claimed speed in the Snapchat pic in my GTS I find it hard to believe that an A class could get anywhere near 165mph.

And the rev counter on an A Class is on the right, so it can't have been a pic of an A Class in the Snapchat picture.

What a waste of a young life....Women in general don't have the dexterity either way,
then there's the peripheral vision thing there not good at either

Dave

My wife would hunt you down if she saw this lol.
Although she may just throw in finishing 3rd overall in the F4 championship :D. Mind you she also agrees that most women are terrible drivers.

RS4/6 yes from Audi rev meter it looks like. Such a sad state. Spoke to a traffic officer mate today about this after he saw it too and he reckons she mounted the guard rail and then went into the tree which seems likely.

The guy who has been arrested was the one who snap-chatted his mates the pic at 165 mph from his Audi RS and was following her. They were meant to have agreed to a race before hand according to reports on Facebook which have since been deleted.

That is likely the section of A10 between M25 Enfield J25 and Carterhatch Lane traffic lights. The section between Bullsmoor Lane lights and Carterhatch Lane lights is straight uninterrupted and for many years year up until fairly recently had speed cameras both sides. It is a 40 speed limit I believe. It is about 1.4m in-between or 1.6m if you come off the M25 roundabout down the A10 and manage to see green lights at Bullsmoor Lane.

The snapchat post suggests going past Turkey Street which is just short of Enfield Cemetery of which I have the displeasure of attending a couple of times in the last couple of years.

It is a terrible situation and terrible waste of life but I think these incidents being publicised to prevent further future incidents has to be a good thing.
I know that area well, use to play football with my brother and cousin on Albany Park in the late 60s/early 70s unfortunately all my recent trips to that area have been to the Crematorium.

The picture wasnt the same car, but was the same night. Police estimated impact of 130mph. We drove there the day after and there were zero skid marks, just metal on curb marks where she mounted the curb.

Is that what they used to call Formula Ford in the old days, impressive then:p
I've had a few runs in single seaters over the years..

Women drivers, generalising again, come in two categories there's the amazing type who make men look stupid, ie Michelle Mouton etal...then there the lot you see driving around every day badly, not paying attention, speeding, being aggressive etc

Lol your correct and she’s the first to admit it begrudgingly there’s really not that many who can actually drive drive. Yeah the slicks n wings version of the formula ford. Surprisingly at the end of my run in F4 I found it hard to match my times the following season in a Formula Renault. Great car to race on a budget (F4 not Renault, the Renault was a money pit)

I have driven and do still drive along that suspected section often. How they got to 165mph along there takes some doing. It needs to be a very fast car for a sustained period of time to hit that speed. It needs big balls or stupidity more likely both.

Seems a little odd that a 26yo was picking up a 10-0 year old daughter on a school night at 11.55pm doesn't it? Do I have that right?
I dont know if they got that right as her daughter was 4 years old
