If money was no object , what would be your favourite TO DRIVE classic Maserati , definately not a garage queen , as we know these cars like to be driven rather than hard standing and just looking shiny ,

Failing that I have always had a soft spot for the Bora, but to be honest, there is only one car I would want if money was no object:

ALFA ROMEO TIPO 33/2 STADALE

The factory are said to have built one or more prototype Merak's with Biturbo engines. I'd quite fancy one of those with a Ghibli Cup lump in it...

Welcome to you Roberts Aerospace.

I loved the Merak. Just a shame it was a bit under powered. Meridien have had one for sale since I was in short trousers which looks very nice

Not sure yet Frank , need to pop down to Norfolk and have a chat with the guy , http://www.stevehartracing.com/parts/parts.asp he's the absolute specialist in UK on Classic Maserati's and not sure whether i'd be getting out of my depth cost wise , but i see no harm in having a look finding out the costs facts to achieve what i want it may end up being a compromise , its not something that will happen overnight but i'll post from time to time on it as i get more info

Not sure how he will feel , but my ideal would be to have the 300s body, chassis and Borani wheels , but the 4200 braking system, the 4200 CC engine and gearbox

The purists would slate me for it , but what a combination , and it would show at a glance that i wasnt trying to copy imitate the original

Loz, I would not worry about it, Boyd Coddington has been getting away with it for years!

I assume this car is a reproduction, if its not, then yes, its a bit of a tough decision if it where mine.

If you want some company when you go view it, I'll be glad to accompany.

Just spoke to Steve Hart http://www.stevehartracing.com/main/main_flash.htm says he has a couple of ongoing projects 300s and a few others so there is plenty to look at he has been building his own 300s for a few years and very near completion so should be real interesting , thought he would fly off the wall when i mentioned my ideal with the 4200c but he was quite relaxed and said we'll have to see if the 4200 rolling chassis will lend itself to 300s adaption, but my own thoughts are to have a purpose made chassis and body but i'll be steered by his advice

I'll probably try and work the first visit to coincide with a visit to family in Lowerstoft
