So I'm not against electric cars, I have a BMW i3. But they are not, imho, a replacement for a proper car (V8, petrol, loud).
So - did anyone catch the latest news from California where as a matter of Health, Safety Environment (and legal liability) the power companies shut down 'the grid' to avoid being responsible or blamed for causing wild fires.
Makes charging your EV a bit of an 'issue'!?
That bit did make me smile!!
Plus all that solar power and wind power is also supplied via the grid......so no use either.
I'm not saying UK is going to have much of a wild fire problem but as we load more demand into an ageing grid system we will see grid failures!!
(But before anybody else noticed - petrol pumps are also electric so keep a Jerry can handy!)
