Looks fabulous. As does the late model white 944 turbo in the background. Is it yours? And might it be available?
Not mine Ewan. Guy turned up in that and took his Merc out of the storage. I can make enquiries if you wish.

Please do. Never any harm in asking. I regret selling my last white 944 turbo, though it was the sensible decision at the time.

4 months since I had my car detailed and protected, and it still amazes me how easy it is to restore back to looking super shiny...

I’ve been using my GS as a daily for the last couple of weeks, so it was pretty grimy and covered in crud. however, a quick snow foam, hand wash and towel dry later, and voila...

if any of you are wondering whether it’s worth paying to have your car professionally detailed and protected, I would definitely say it is...

Lovely, Jon. Your GS is stunning, and a more than worthy successor to your GTS. You've motivated me to get up earlier tomorrow and give mine a scrub. Had planned on it today but it was an icy wind, so I stayed in.

6 months later....

I know it’s a radical thing to say, but I think this car may end up being a keeper....

I had a ceramic coating applied to my previous GTS. It certainly made it easier to clean and looked great when washed BUT when it rained the rainwater was repelled by the coating so balled-up on the flat surfaces and then evaporated, leaving lots of patches of salt - or whatever is in rainwater, which looked terrible on a black car

I had my old 2009 QP detailed and then 2 coats of Ceramic Pro 9h applied to the paintwork, alloys, brake calipers and windows. Pav at 'Ceramic Pro' Manchester did a cracking job and it cost me £1k to have it done, about 3 years ago now. Had the car a week so it wasnt a small job. When it came out it looked like showroom condition BUT when driving it on the motorway 3 days later in heavy rain, the road dirt stuck to the paintwork as before, which I really wasn't expecting. I was led to believe that traffic film etc wasnt really supposed to stick to the paint anymore but it definately did. So what I thought would mean much less washing, certainly for a couple of years, turned out not to be the case. By the way the QP was also Black.
So I was left with a question in my mind if it was really worth it, or should I have just stuck with old fashioned waxing.

mine does this a bit as well - the beading from the ceramic coating does mean that I notice water spots more... however, as long as I towel dry after I wash it, then it’s not an issue... I also occasionally give the car a squirt of detailing spray that has some carnuba wax in...

Update after a couple of years @JonW ?
I'm currently considering it, so interested in longevity as I've been told it has a 9 year guarantee!

Are you thinking of a trip to Devon for this Sam or have you found someone local to you?

I should add - I am thinking of some paint correction and detailing for mine (the Stradale that is, the Trofeo is beyond help in terms of colour match, paint finish, panel gaps, the list goes on ...) so I was wondering if you knew of someone local to you, and therefore reasonably local to me too?
Thanks

Someone local who has a good reputation, but through a mate so should get a good deal.
I've always been dubious of such magic, and their claims so asking before I shell out.

I will let you know how it goes, before I recommend. But I met him today and he seems a very genuine guy and has done LOTS of nice, expensive cars.
