Hi All,

Firstly great to see such an active and informative forum.

I’m currently in the market for a Granturismo 4.7, prefer MC shift, but that aside am quite open on the colour combos. Key is condition and being well maintained, with known issues / maintenance addressed or factored in.

Budget is £25k-£32k, so hopefully wide enough to bring in some decent examples. Preference is for a forum car, but I have been scouring the usual AT/PH platforms as well as some of the known Dealers for a good example. I’m East Midlands based but will travel anywhere for the right example.

Advice is most welcome and will be appreciated, plus if you are considering selling or know of an example on, or about to hit the market, then please let me know.

Cheers Jules

That's a good ballpark budget. You should have a wide choice of good well maintained low mileage GT for that. Possibly getting a Face-lift MY13 onwards.

Welcome and enjoy looking.

Whatever you do, get a PPI.

They are generally very reliable but the potential to throw up big bills should not be underestimated

I very much doubt you’ll find a good facelift (2013) car with that budget, but you will get, for example, a nice 2011 car. And such a GT will be jolly lovely.

Jules, speak to Richard Grace as mentioned above. As I understand it, his cars are neck and shoulders above the rest. Let us know how you get on, good luck with the search.
Thanks for saying so, I do try to ensure that is the case. We’ve some lovely ones in at present too.
I do struggle to find them sub £30k, I have only ever had one car which was a 2010 4.2. I do find them around £32-33k now and again. @Cyclone1 I'm more than happy to try and help you out with no agenda; and talk you through what to buy, if you did wish to call.

Another recommendation for Dickie - bought my Strad from him “unseen” during lockdown, a real gent to deal with and the car had been perfect, meeting all expectations.

Wow!

This has to be one of the most positive and welcoming set of replies I’ve had to a first post on a new forum - so thank you.

Some good advice so far which is appreciated. Please keep the advice and pointers coming.

Cheers Jules

Welcome and good luck with your search for a GTS. I recently bought a 2013 model and love it. You’ll struggle to get a good facelift car within that budget. I’d say your looking at c£37k as a starting point

Agree.
I’d be happy with a 10/11/12 if the condition / maintenance are great. There are a few on AT/PH that look tempting, so will do my homework before enquiring. It could be that the owners are on here?

I bought my 2010 4.7 GTS auto from Dicky a few years ago , would definitely recommend him! He was lovely to deal with, knowledgeable and charged a fair price for a great car. I drove all the way up from London to pick it up and drove all the way down with a massive smile ! Mines a black car with beige interior and has a FD remote valve fitted .... its lovely don't think I will be changing it at all! Its currently at Sports italia having a few things sorted. It's been quite a positive ownership experience so far, and I think you have made a good choice, I moved up from a merc SL, I was looking at quite a few varied cars from an Aston Martin DB9 volante porsche 911 997, and a Nissan GTR. All varied but after one drive in the GT (it was actually sitting in the Aston Martin dealership as a part exchange!)... i knew this 83754was the one, fits my wife, and the 2 lil kids easy, sounds amazing, and comfortable for long journeys, and absolutely stunning to look at. Everyone is also always complimentary about the car have had so many nice comments, even from school mums who don't really notice cars!! Good luck on your search, you won't be disappointed!!

Well it’s been an interesting week. I’m not an owner yet, or close to being one but it’s still early days.

I’ve done a fair bit of research to enhance my knowledge of the car, plus had some excellent info and insights from one of the gurus on here.

I’ve enquired about a couple of cars that tick most boxes and had a split response, to be honest not a great response at all on one of the cars for sale, but let’s see what this weekend brings. Also had a couple of forum members offer up their cars as potential purchases, so thanks for that.

The colour combinations on these cars can vary, so I think it may be worth waiting to see if any interesting ones appear. Like many I am drawn to the dark / light, light / dark combos, but do keep getting drawn to Grigio Alfieri which suits the car well.

Thanks for all the info / advice and will keep you updated on progress.

Jules
