Is there an equivalent "loop" on the 4200 CC to open the boot ?

Got to the car park and the gearbox stuck is in reverse! Aha reset the battery I thought, I did that with no success but thought maybe I`d read wait for 30 mins so I turned it off again closed the boot and went away.
You`ve guessed it cant open the boot. Any advise, please

Key should still work in the boot lock...

...but be firm and gentle as they don't get used often so can be stiff and break keys.

Tried that it turns about 15 degrees but doesn't pop the lid, never used the lock before..should I be more vigorous? no luck with the glove box switch.

Keep working the key backwards and forwards, it should turn more than 15 deg to open the boot..!! You can try some downward pressure on the boot lid whilst turning the key, not a lot, just enough to give the lock chance to free itself..!! Don't force the key, they can snap..!!

Thanks fellas I`ll go back and try that. I`ve come back to the office to use the PC here because I forgot the password to use from my phone. It`s 7.30 Friday evening here and I didn't think I`d be sitting at my desk still!

If you have anything like WD40 in the office (??) use that and it will free the lock, if they are not used for a while they do start to stick..!! Best of luck..!!

I don't know about the 4200 but on both my Alfa 166 and my QP the trick is to push down on the boot lid, above the lock, while turning the key. Without pushing down it won't release.
